This resonates a lot with me. Kind of gives you the insights into the ways of the world that no one else gave you. But it's not all absolute truths, just like any other figure in your life can be flawed. I still check it out every now and then. The general climate of self-improvement for the sake of your own self-worth over there was very healthy for me during a difficult time, minus all the gender dogma and hate. Hell, it got me lifting which is a very good thing in my life right now after a bu…

I think the key to all this is sorting your own individual life out. This great reply should be higher up for this reason alone. I've shattered stable and potentially healthy relationships with good LTR material due to being in the passenger seat next to the monsters in my head. Getting laid is cool, but get yourselves sorted out lads.

Check out active recovery. The first few sets are a grind but halfway through you start feeling great and it all mostly goes away. If you're a beginner beginner try a couple sets (dont quit after the first one, that one always sucks) and see how you they feel. If there's no improvement just call it a day. Over time you learn to tell when it's better to push through or just come back the next day but until then give it a try. Worst case scenario you were thinking of skipping a day anyway

This. Starting on bodyweight is particularly more difficult if you're overweight when you start. You get demotivated faster, too. Better to start out slow on the pulldown machine and work up from there. Back when I started lifting, I had already slowly worked up to benching 225 and I still couldn't hit more than five pullups in a row. If I had thought bodyweight stuff was a requirement before touching a barbell I probably wouldn't have stuck with it

Started out wanting to get jacked, 3 years in I ended up with a powerlifter dad bod. Still happy with where I'm at compared to where I was, though there's always shit to improve

You already lift. This post ain't for you. I know the internet says it's cool to shit on PF but you're just enabling people to have a shitty excuse not to start lifting here.

The girl flirting with you at work etc. Why didn't you respond? She's not texting at 2AM because she wants to watch a movie

What worked for me was moving cardio to the end of the workout. My train of though for this is that we lift heavy to tear muscle apart, and we do cardio to burn excess fat, right? You walk into the gym with a bunch of fuel already on your blood, which is easily accessible to muscles, which you need to work to the max in order to see strength/size gains. Once you deplete that easy energy, you body has to scatter and try to make some extra fuel out of fat. In this state, your muscles can't work as…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
