I think divorce has made me more skeptical when a woman makes an abuse claim toward a man. I used to be one of those “omg gotta believe the woman” people, now I actually ask more questions, like, is there proof? What’s the relationship? Could she just be crazy? And most importantly, what’s the guy say about it all? My girlfriend feels this is one of my negative aspects, the skepticism.

Yes absolutely.

What this guy said, 100% accurate. Sending hugs though, sucks to go through.

Is there a divorced men’s lobby to try and get the laws changed?
/r/Divorce_Men11/12/25 05:54 PM

Yeah. I just keep my emotions to myself. If I have a question I ask her. He’s way older than me, fatter than me, and subjectively uglier than me. Travels within the CONUS a lot without her and apparently she knows he’s been cheating on her. Honestly, I didn’t believe in karma until I found all this out.

Adding to this, yes karma is real. I fumed the same when ex moved the homewrecker in, fumed at all the times I’d catch him at a function that my kids were at too. Nothing to be done about it, just had to sit silently and live my life. Fast forward to the present day, the kids are telling me that the dude has been caught cheating on their mom, that they see her bawling over it all the time, and I’m just sitting here shrugging my shoulders, like, well ain’t that a shame? I’m not even that ecstatic…

Don’t put any expectations on yourself in terms of recovery time, it’s different for everyone. Get into new hobbies or deeper into existing ones. Maybe see a therapist, just have someone to vent too. Be kinder to yourself.

I get it. My dad is a major Trumper. He called me day after the election to tell me to get ready because the job offers are gonna start flowing now. He's still my dad. I can't shut him out like that. See if your wife maybe just needs some time to cool down a bit. Election just happened a few days ago, wounds still very fresh. If she doesn't, maybe you guys can compromise maybe hang out with the Trumpers less.

Some take less time, some take more. Don’t be hard on yourself, it’ll happen eventually just enjoy what you’ve still got. I’m roughly 4-5 years out, yeah for the longest time I felt like I was just treading water, just in a state of limbo or waiting for lightning to strike so I could just die. I’m doing better now. I think it was time plus finding a good woman, but I feel it was mostly just time. Hang in there, bro. This isn’t easy.

My heart goes out to you. You’ve spent your whole life seeking love and approval from possibly the wrong people. I think you should seek therapy over everything else. Sort these feelings out. Remember that these painful phases are just phases and they’ll all pass.

You know what pisses them off more than anything? You enjoying your life. Just smile, laugh off any bs they send towards you. Deflect any negativity or just ignore it. If he absolutely feels the need to fight you make sure he takes a swing in front of your son. He'll hate that guy forever. Plus he'll point him out in court as the guy that tried to hit his dad. Also, you know that dude is being fed a firehose full of bs about you from the ex. Obviously he's her knight in shining armor /s

Yeah they’re just as bad as people that claim their personal decision came about because they prayed on it and god told them what to do. So to absolve themselves of responsibility these “spiritual” women say “oh I’m a Virgo and the second moon of arrakis was waxing in tardigrade and that’s why I boiled your bunny” or something along those lines.

Swipe left if... She tries to get your phone number right away/move off the app to a different communications app like WhatsApp, she's most likely a catfish. Consider swiping left if... All she has are face pics. Or they're selfies at strange angles. She's overweight and is trying to hide it, but what does she expect is going to happen once you actually meet her? All her pics look like model shoots. She says her children are her first priority, why would they not be? That's all I got for now. Go…

Divorce is… Not having those moments any more where you come home from work to a house bustling with energy and laughter. Walking your dog alone on a Sunday evening and hearing children’s laughter coming from your neighbors houses. You walk by thinking, “That was my home once.” It’s dealing with an ex-wife who now swears up and down that she NEVER loved you. Dealing with mental issues with the kids that you never imagined you’d have to deal with. Silence because they were mostly her friends. Rea…

I scrolled down and saw that you don't have kids with her. Dude, this is a gift. Cut her completely out of your life. No social media, no mutual friends that her photo could pop up in. Just go forward and ignore her very existence. Of course you'll be hurting for a while, just take it day-by-day. And please, please, please don't do anything illegal.

I have thoughts. Women like this have to form their own alternate reality in order to justify their actions to themselves, but more importantly to their friends. And god forbid if you act in a contentious manner after the fact, that will just provide them with more justification, even though your actions are a direct result of her choices. After having gone through a similar ringer myself (not to the point of TikTok posts though), I’m wary of anybody that shows up going “oh, he/she was so toxic,…

most advice given is female-centric where men are almost viewed like some sort of servant figure. Don't dare mention anything about how a woman should save herself for marriage though (hell, any standards a man has seems to be shamed) here, here!

It’s normal to feel that way.

Time. You just need time. Just take it slow. One day at a time. 3 years since divorce and sometimes a moment with her still flashes in my mind and I have to sit down and just wallow in sadness at how things turned out.

Pick up some hobbies. I picked a bunch up from watching youtube.
/r/Divorce_Men07/06/22 02:12 AM

It's normal. Don't get together to plan shit. Plan your own shit for your kid. She's not your teammate any more, you're solo now. Upside is you don't need her opinion for shit. Downside is there's no one to share cute moments with your kid with. It's not "they" who left you, it's her. Unless the kid is like a teenager and can assert his or herself. Time, above all else. To heal. Above all else. I promise.

That seems like a lot to lay on a kid. She can't wait?

Under a year eh? Well, garbage fire's gonna garbage fire. Sorry bro. Mine cheated on me and 95% of her friends, along with her family, basically stopped talking to me. So at least in this case the public shaming is doing what it should. Hang in there.

Hey bro I’m in the same boat. Ive been arguing for weeks with their mom over vaccinations. They just got Covid a few days ago while under her watch, and then gave it to me. I’m fully vaxxed and boostered so I’m good. Coincidentally so is she but she’s in education so she has to be. Luckily, it looks like their worst symptom is mild fever (knock on wood). I told her that I’d rather get them vaccinated and that I’d take my chances with legal shit. It’s a bluff though I don’t know what would legall…

I like this idea. Also, isn’t there like a non profit for mens divorce rights? That could campaign against these shitty biased divorce judges? Or shame the ones that got there by appointment?

I can't speak for this case specifically because I haven't read up on it at all, but given the whole "he's a bad dude he did some abuse" but "it's fine he's not a bad dude you can have unsupervised".... This sounds like typical bulshit. Yeah, like, if he's so bad and abusive then why are they letting him near the kids at all? It does reek.

Bro, some people are just pure trash. I’m sorry you’re going through this. You must endure it, there’s nothing more that can be done at the moment. Also, don’t give her the satisfaction of watching you get back on the booze. Once you’ve endured and turned to see the path you walked you’ll see she wasn’t worth it. Never was.

Dude, at the start it's horrible and brutal. The silence after so many years of coming to a home bristling with energy and life, it's just the worst. Eventually, the time alone lets you rediscover yourself and it becomes less bad. You can focus on what you guys are going to do when you get your boys back. I used to take the time to check out nearby hiking trails or locations to get an idea of what to expect when I bring my kids.

The worst part is ALL of her coworkers knew about the affair. And not a single person who worked at the gym reached out to tell me. They supported her. Like a woman empowerment moment. Yeah, went through this with my ex's co-workers.
