2	”ME TOO”. Has anyone else seen this passed around Facebook? It excludes men as victims of harrasment and focuses solely on female victims. I think that abusers prey on how easy it is for the victim to hate themselves, and how easy it is to think that it's your fault and that you somehow deserve whats happening. What happened to you was NOT your fault. You did nothing to deserve it. You didn't deserve the abuse, and you didn't deserve for people to treat you like your story doesn't matter just because of your gender. I am so very sorry that not only this happened to you, but that you were treated like this. It's not ok, and what happened wasn't your fault. You didn't deserve the abuse or the terrible disbelief from those you should be able to trust. I absolutely hate the "teach your boys not to rape" saying. I don't have a strong enough word to describe my disgust and detest over it, and toward the people who think saying something so insensitive and heartless is ok. Yes, there will be people who won't understand, but I think it's because some people literally have no idea that abuse happens to men. There was a time when child abuse in general simply wasn't talked about. Like, if you don't talk about it, it doesn't exist. I think I read about that in the book A Child Called It, where he was trying to get help, but no one believe him because 'child abuse just didn't happen' or something like that? I hate that your friend had to go through something so traumatic and he doesn't even get the closure of being able to admit that it happened without getting laughed at. It's sickening and infuriating. Can we get guys in on this too so it's not just a female thing? I have a few of my friends change their posts to include men, so it's not just a woman thing. I really think it's a great movement, but I'm really irked that this has become about women.
