Your story about the yearly family beach vacations is similar to what we used to do. I used to dread having to go on those. They always started out good the first couple of days but then the drama started and it became a pain. We even left early a couple of times because my ex didn’t want to be there anymore and it was her family. I would think we wouldn’t have to go the following year but a couple of months later they would be planning the trip. I don’t miss that at all.

I’m about 10 minutes and my ex is about 20.

I did and I thought we were on the way to reconciliation but my ex decided to cheat again.

They just change the narrative to excuse what they have done to destroy the marriage. They want us to be the bad guy.

My ex now claims she doesn’t know if she ever loved me during our 17 years of marriage. Meanwhile we had 2 kids together and she repeatedly told me how much she loved me and how I was a great husband and dad. Then she starts her cheating and makes me the bad guy to justify it.

She doesn’t want to feel guilty for cheating so that’s why she is wishing you love, peace and happiness.

My ex was the same way. Everything turned into a fight at the end. We communicate through a parent app now but I haven’t talked to her in person in probably 4 months. If we actually did talk in person it would turn into a fight. She was the one who was a serial cheater but she made me out to be the bad guy to justify it.

My ex never took responsibility either. Everything was my fault and I never liked having confrontations with her so I would always apologize no matter if I was at fault or not. She always acted like she has never done anything wrong.

I lived for 6-7 months with my ex wife while going through a divorce and it sucked. She was with her AP the whole time. She would go out nearly every night and come home at 1 am. She would leave me with the kids while she was with this guy. I was basically a nanny for her during this time. Towards the end she just started staying the night at this guys place which was a relief for me because I didn’t have to deal with her but it destroyed my kids. My oldest son (12) doesn’t really have any relat…

That’s awesome. I know it will most likely never happen but I’ve practiced a similar speech in my head a million times to tell my ex.

I think you maybe right. I didn’t know much about bipolar until recently but after reading up on it she definitely has many of the characteristics.

Sounds like my ex. We were together for 18 years and she had 9 jobs during that time. Always got bored and had to get a new job even though they were usually a lateral move. We had to move so many times. Two years before our divorce she decided we needed to build a house even though the house we had was only 6 years old. We had to get a dog which I ended up taking care of and then a couple of years later she needed another dog and actually brought one home but she took it back. Constant change a…

As soon as one of you start dating it will turn into a disaster. I had to live with my ex while going through a divorce and she was dating the whole time and it was hell.

Yes and I have come to realize that who she has become is not someone I would want to be with. Even if I had never met her before today and I was introduced to her I don’t think she is someone that I would be attracted to either physically or her personality. I have come to realize how easily she lies and I’m not just talking about with our relationship. She can lie about things that she doesn’t even need to lie about and do it without a guilty conscience.

I’ve felt sad for a long time. It’s better now but there are days where I still feel sad about the relationship and what could have been. My ex cheated on me repeatedly the last 6 years of our marriage and I hate her for that but I still mourn the end of our marriage. She changed into a person I didn’t recognize but I still feel sad at the breakup of the marriage and our family. She filed in May and it was finalized last month, I’m doing a lot better but there are days that are still hard.

I’m so sorry. My ex wife turned into an awful person but the day I got served was still so sad.

My lawyer told me we each to keep our rings. Today my ex (been divorced for 2 weeks) texted asking for her rings back but I don’t have them. I told her to look in the places she usually put them when she was having her affairs.

I feel the same way. I can’t see myself getting in a serious relationship with a woman ever again. I could be friends and date but I can’t see anything serious ever happening. Too much drama.

This is a great read. I have no plans to date but my STBXW has been in a relationship with a guy for the last 3 months and it’s really messed up my oldest son (12). I am trying to focus on being the best dad for him and his younger brother.

You are not wrong. You will be happier celebrating with your son in your own way and I think he will happier too not having to see how uncomfortable you will be in that situation.

My STBXW cheated on me 5 times in our marriage and I was an idiot trying to work things out instead of filing. She was actually the one who filed because her latest affair is apparently her soulmate or something. Just a couple of months ago I was trying to figure out a way to make this work but like you I hate her now. I just want this whole thing to be over and I wish I would never see her again but with 2 kids I am not going to have a choice. She has turned into the most evil person towards me…

I’m going through my second divorce. The first marriage lasted 2 years and there were no kids. The second one has lasted 17 years with 2 kids and I feel awful. I don’t necessarily feel like a loser but I don’t think I could ever get married again. I don’t know if I will ever get in a serious relationship again. Both marriages ended with my wives cheating on me. I’m not sure I can ever trust again.

My STBXW was texting her AP around 300-400 texts a day.

When I discovered my STBXW first affair it was because she had withdrawn from our relationship, was spending nearly every waking minute that she was at home texting and always hiding her phone. She also started dressing sexier and always wore makeup even if she was just going to the grocery store or something. I actually caught her by sneaking up behind her when she was texting the AP and taking the phone from her and reading the texts.

2,1,6,5 I still love and will always have a love for her but I also hate her if that’s makes sense. She cheated on me multiple times and broke up our family and doesn’t seem remorseful about it. I also feel somewhat sorry for her because I have a feeling she may go through this cycle the rest of her life. She can never seem to be happy with herself and although she has been in therapy she has never made a true effort in my opinion to change and that’s one of the main reasons she cheated and we a…

I was 27 and she was 23 when we started dating. We got married at 29 and 26. Now in the the divorce process 17 (almost 18) years later.

I feel your pain. My STBXW cheated on me and actually filed on me too. She is such a different person, I don’t even recognize her anymore. She is so selfish and doesn’t care about anything but herself. She doesn’t even seem to care that much for the kids anymore, they seem to get in the way of the new person she has become. I can’t understand how someone can change so fast. So much of what she cared about before she doesn’t anymore and of course she made me out to be the bad one. Meanwhile I’m t…
