I don't get your "even if a single woman doesn't like casual sex" thing. Women still get Instagram comments, attention, etc, whether we're in a relationship or not. If someone really enjoys attention it isn't like it just goes away - only the reciprocation does, if there ever was any. I still get asked out randomly, it isn't like men can smell my relationship status walking down the street. Not sure what friendships have to do with it either, but it isn't like we just dump our friends when we're…

Sounds like he should sleep in another room if your medical needs are so disturbing to him. Maybe get him some earplugs.

This is such a good example and so conflicting for me right now. My SO and I don't live together and have not gotten to meet very often through the pandemic, as I am self isolating and he can't. When he comes over we try to be extra careful, keep our distance, have all windows open, etc. A couple of times I have had to remind him to wash his hands before dinner or after going to the bathroom (he usually does, just once in a while it slips his mind and normally I would not even notice, but now I …

I think this was confusing because some of us may not understand why your husband would kick up any sort of fuss about the money spent at you or your kids if your kids are adults who purchased gifts with their own money. It makes it sound like maybe your kids are younger and purchasing gifts with your husband's and your money. Wanting control over purchases with your shared finances is one thing, but why would it even pop into your husband's head to demand from you or your kids an answer as to w…

FDS is not a body positivity movement, why are you derailing? Yes, FDS sucks, too. But the point is that you can start an actual body positivity movement.

About 16 was when I sort of grew into myself and started to get male attention/being considered "attractive".

If he is doing it for your benefit (ie maybe you will listen more and do your homework), then he should also be able to hear and consider feedback when you communicate to him that this is not the best way to motivate you. It does not mean he needs to necessarily agree, but has he tried the non-condescending/passive aggressive approach?

Do you think they literally cycle through partners 100% of their time? Like 24/7, all day every day? How did you make the leap from a post about this girl having casual sex to her never being alone?

This exact situation happened to me. I was clear with him that I was not interested in jumping into a relationship when I met my bf. I had just left a LTR of seven years a few months prior and did not want to dive head first into another one. He was on the same page. I was on dating apps to test the waters and meet interesting people, and he was on them to sleep around and also meet interesting people. I ended up meeting one guy that I had a casual thing with before meeting my now-bf. So when we…

I mean, it is kind of on you to retrieve whatever possessions you want, right? Regardless of who broke up with who, if I have stuff at my ex's place that I want back I'd better go over there and get it. What's to stop him from just keeping it or tossing it after a while? He has no incentive to go out of his way to deliver my possessions back to me.

I don't think you can go off of a random thread in this sub to say women don't like video games. Most of the time it is not video games that is the problem, it is video games taking over someone's life completely to the point where they have no life outside of video games, reduce their activity levels, and do not maintain attraction or attractiveness in their relationship. This would be the case for any other hobby that consumes a large portion of someone's life, especially a sedentary one. As f…

Do you have any idea how many men (and women) are out there who have nice bodies and can do pullups? Being on SA as an old cheapskate who can lift his own body weight won't impress anyone.

Female. My definition is very flexible as long as both of us are honest with each other. Currently it is not interacting with other people romantically.

No. I do want my man to be a "captain" in the home environment/our personal home lives, but one who values and supports my professional and personal ambitions and lack of desire for children. If these factors don't mesh and he expects me to stay at home and care for the kids he isn't the captain for me.

I was in a relationship with a man who had two kids for almost six years. After I left, I specifically looked for dates with men who did not specify having a kid on Bumble, or those who specified they had no kids. My now boyfriend was one of those who did not specify one way or the other, and so "slipped through" my ideal filter of not getting into that again. He has a kid, and is co-parenting. But I'm so glad it happened. Things with his kid went much slower than with my ex, and I had matured s…

I don't think it's in the interest of every woman ever, but it is in my personal interest when it comes to my own relationship.

I prefer your way of handling it and would personally find it attractive if someone suggested that I cover ice cream next time after I offered, but I also wouldn't blame a guy for accepting if I offered to split.

I would not object to that clarification if you feel like being that detailed about it, but I do think it is worth clarifying that I don't consciously think about safety or any of those things when I see someone tall, built, attractive across the street. In fact, if I think more about that divide between just "aesthetically pleasing" and "aesthetically pleasing because of safety, status, feeling feminine", I sort of almost put the former down to someone I may think looks "pretty", but not attrac…

I think you're right, but to me it also feels like a very blurry line. Technically all physical attributes I'm attracted to are about how a guy makes (or has the potential to make) me feel.

Just aesthetics and "fit" for me. I like both looking up at someone when we are on a date and also feeling sufficiently small when cuddling.

You seem to associate this phrase with futility, like people who hear it just need to accept their fate or something? There are so many ways to improve your appearance. Some people mistakenly believe they are ugly and can't do anything about it, and so do not put in any effort at all. Pointing out the importance of appearance is not the equivalent of telling you to shut up and give up, rather it is usually aiming to make one see that they should put an effort into their appearance and level up w…

Step 1: Learn how to spell "woman" Step 2: Accept that it is just your turn, just like it is just her turn with you. What did you expect, actual ownership of this person? It's up to you both whether that turn lasts a day or a lifetime.

My type is indeed tall, built well, nice smile. To add to that, nice hands - large and a bit veiny, with nice clean nails that are not long, but not cut all the way down to the skin either. I like someone in the 6-6ft2 category specifically, but basically anything 5'10 and up is my jam (not to say I'd never go for anyone shorter, but we're talking about ideals here). Build: I like someone strong looking, with defined musculature. Not roided up monster territory, but visible abs and lats and a br…

Here are my thoughts on these. Bodily autonomy: the man has full autonomy to do what he wishes with his body, as should the woman. I don't agree with the idea of forcing a woman to go through a medical procedure because a man chose to ejaculate inside her. That would be negating her bodily autonomy to a far greater extent than his own. However, the man should have full right to reject the baby (or future baby) within a reasonable time frame once he learns of its existence. Mandatory paternity te…

The comment I replied to was about anal, specifically about your claim that anal is "gonna hurt". I replied to the post as a whole in a separate comment. Your last paragraph ignores all the reasons that I and others have given you. Those are literally reasons why women may not want to do a sexual act with a new partner than they did with another partner. Did you read them? If so, what makes you think there is "no reason" when plenty of them have been very clearly spelled out for you here? What c…

Nice backpedal. You said "who the fuck doesn't know that anal is gonna hurt", not "can hurt". Yeah it can hurt sometimes, and that's how you know you're doing it wrong (unless both parties are into pain). Then, being considerate of each other instead of entitled, you slow down, reposition, add more lube, or stop until it doesn't hurt. If it hurts consistently or if you just expect that it's "gonna hurt" by default, you are not a good anal partner. With enough prep and proper familiarisation with…

You sound like a pretty bad sexual partner to have anal with if you really think that anal by default is going to hurt. A great example of someone a woman may not want to do anal with even though she did it with a previous partner.

I can think of two reasons why I would not want to perform a sexual act with a new partner that I had performed with a previous partner: I never liked the act in the first place and was only doing it to please my partner. After ending the relationship I might re-evaluate my actions, as is common after a relationship ends, and decide that that I'm not willing to do that again. Maybe the new partner is just not that good at performing the act in a way that is enjoyable like the previous partner wa…

I am a woman. I have not been cheated on before to my knowledge. I have never cheated physically, but I have emotionally cheated once before. I did this by talking to another man online before ending my relationship. The talk did not become explicitly romantic until after I broke up with my then-boyfriend, and my then-boyfriend knew about this new friend I had made and that we were talking. But at some point I realized there was too much emotional investment in this other person, and in retrospe…

Close friends, yes. I do not have many closer friends and would take their feedback into serious consideration. In terms of just normal friends and coworkers, I expect my boyfriend to behave in a way that will not embarrass me in public, so that does mean I care to a degree what they would think. But in terms of deeper feedback on my relationship itself, personality traits, etc, no I would not care unless it was coming from a very close friend.

Not mandatory, but desired for me. I know how you feel though - I'm also busy. I like my apartment and my free time, and also have two cats whom I won't leave alone for more than a night. Once a week is plenty for me.

Some people prefer to keep relationships private. It could be something dodgy or it could be a matter of bad past experiences. I've known men and women who had public relationships on social media that ended up in nasty breakups. Having been public before, it was difficult to keep the breakups private. Maybe they're partly over-correcting, but they are now more careful to avoid ending up in similar situations.

Not necessarily a foot taller, but I do like taller men. I'm 5'4 so it isn't hard to find one. I prefer to be the little spoon. I think it's nice. The fact that seeing it some stranger dating someone taller than them used to actually make you upset is sort of weird and suggests more about you than about them. It doesn't have to be "necessary" for us to date someone taller just because we want to. Why do you find it so upsetting?

I don't fully understand. From what I gather his friend is in town, he invites you to the beach, you choose not to go. Did he indicate that he wasn't going to be spending time with any other people at the beach or when his friend was here? Was there an expectation of him listing all the people he was having dinner and drinks with?

Just got INTP on that test. (I 22%, N 34%, T 3%, P 9%) - so it almost ended up as an XNFX it seems based on the low Thinking percentage :) I feel like what you're getting at (correct me if I'm wrong!) is that I might just not be a very emotional person myself, or that I ignore my emotions. While I can see how it can come off that way I do feel strong emotions and can personally be very upset about things - especially when it is something I have brought upon myself (eg, if I said or did something…

I used to always test as an ENFP as a kid but in my last test a couple of years ago that changed to something with an I, not sure what it is now. I definitely don't find it enjoyable when other people are sad, it's just sometimes hard to understand why they might continue to waste energy being upset about certain situations (such as in cases where they can't do anything about it right that moment anyway, for example). Empathy for non-human animals is considerably easier for me and I think it's b…

Yeah, I do that a lot (I also did that as a game as a kid, pretending I was the other person on the bus :D), though I didn't know it was called the golden rule. It is usually the first thing I try when I just can't "get" why they're so upset about something. Sometimes I'll get a moment where it'll work, like a flash of queasy sadness or regret where I'll feel whatever they say they're feeling, but it doesn't last for more than a split second at a time. I can't actually keep the interaction going…

I don't have much empathy for human beings. I care more about animals than people, in general. Most of the time I don't think of this as a problem, except even with people who are the exception and whom I care about very deeply (so really just one person), it's hard to comfort them emotionally - when I try it feels weird and wrong most of the time. When someone I care about is going through a hard time I don't really know how to empathize with them. I can do things to try to make them feel bette…
