You have no idea how precarious democracy is. This is precisely how fascist individuals seize control.

You're living in a different America.

Funny. On the front page of the Top stories today: https://www.eurekalert.org/news-releases/929848 Maybe you need to re-adjust what you think you know about police violence in the USA and stop trying to "adjust for violent crime" or whatever self-gaslighting you're doing.

That's not a biased adjustment at all... It's a shitty problem, not going to try to act like I have answers, but "criminals" are disproportionately minorities and that's not a coincidence based on minorities being more criminal by nature or some of the wild shit people say. Slavery was transitioned into the prison industrial complex and we now have more incarcerated black people today than were in bonds at the peak of slavery in this country. Regarding being shot... Let's agree that cops shootin…

It's all good, chief. You admit that admitted that cops killing unarmed people is a problem and that it happens to minorities at disproportionate rates. Nothing else to add, your honor.

No, that's my analogy. You might want to work on your ability to keep up.

Yes. I believe that murdering 50 unarmed people a year is a prevalent problem. If one off-duty cop was murdered in every state, every year, do you think anyone would say it isn't a problem?

OK cool, just wanted to make sure that you are at least acknowledging that the police KILLED as many as, in your own words, 50 unarmed people...in what? The last year? That's deaths. How many do you think they've beaten? Intimidated?of those, how many go public? I figure, even if 1/3 of the attacks are publicized on YouTube, etc., then there's another 2 for every one we hear about, not counting unreported assaults and intimidations. Let's be real. Police are not here to protect anything but prop…

But you admit that the cops are shooting unarmed people? And attacking them when they are defenseless?

Nah in the US, the first cop would have shot them both in fear of his life.

I agree with you, but also, that's how we ended up with Dubya. My old roommate, I remember, was all about "a president you could have a beer with," and "a blue-collar businessman president," which was, of course, wildly inaccurate on the latter. Edit: lol why is this controversial? It's just a rando conversation.

I mean... I agree. I have studied and taught a smattering of self defense and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and often that is the real answer to "how do i recover from X," but it's also not really useful once you find yourself in that situation and don't have the tools for getting out of it. Freaking out and raging are the worst options, only get you into worse shit, but tapping out only works if the other party is willing to respect the surrender. Sometimes it takes a wake-up call. I'm a fair and reasona…

You obviously cared enough to write all this, but I have to say I stopped reading after you doubled down on the "don't be in that situation in the first place" solution to dealing with the problem. Thanks, but I'm done now.

Have a therapist, thanks for taking such an interest in my personal life, and I wasnt arrested, as what I did was righteous, and I have since been vindicated and even praised for my actions in that moment. Walk away? Run away? You didn't even ask for all the details. You have zero idea other than the crumbs I've tossed here. Take some of your own advice before you start trying to direct others.

Would you have felt better if I said backhand a bitch? That comment was mainly intended for color. Violence is golden, it's the ultimate answer. It may not always be the right answer, and in most cases it probably isn't, but it is the ultimate one, and unfortunately it is sometimes the only answer that a person is capable of hearing. In this case, I stand by my motto that none shall provoke me with impunity. It's not badass shit, it's self respect, a thing I've spent most of my life not having. …

I pleaded with people who had been in my life for a long time, who I had grown close to, to see her for who she really was. Eventually they did. All of them. But your suggestion that I should have just brushed it off, cut everyone out of my life, and just walked away like a fart on the wind is naive and you clearly don't understand attachment or social obligation. I was just supposed to gut my entire life to make way for her? C'mon.

Yes, striking her was in fact the ONLY THING that did ultimately end the situation. If I had done it sooner, I believe I never would have had to endure the rest of that particular nightmare. If I had put my foot down that first night instead of caving and giving her validation, then I believe that her behavior would have changed. I would have been arrested, but yes I am 100% still defending myself and you are 100% still debasing and insulting with your insinuation that I could have just made it …

I agree and disagree. She assaulted me the first time on the first date, but it just felt like general drunken aggressiveness initially until I had to physically push her off me three or four times before she stopped. And then she showed up at my house the next day. She started calling my friends, going around to the bar I frequent, then resorting to starting rumors about me. I tried hard to be friends with her bc everyone said how nice and sweet and well-meaning she is. And then she assaulted o…

There are stickers all over my town that say "kill your rapist," but what they mean is "kill your (white male) rapist." I commiserate with the anger, but I sometimes feel like it's misguided or exclusionary. That isn't my first rodeo, either. When I was 14, a girl my friends were feuding with attacked me in the cafeteria and I slapped her in response, after being hit several times. These videos of these kids with the "please just make it stop" look when they finally snap is so close to home for …

And when she laughs, says, "haha you don't mean that. You want me and you know it," and physically shoves you down in a chair and straddles you and starts slobbing on your face, and you push her away and she says, "oo feisty" and bites you.... You're supposed to what? Say, "I said GET THE FUCK OUT?" so she bites harder and grabs your face and says, "No. You're going to fuck me whether you want to or not."... Then what? Cuz bruh... There's not much you can do. She says, "don't bother fighting it.…

Bruh. I'm bald, white, bearded, 6'2" 250 and have tattoos. I'm one stick & poke away from a hate crime just bc of my aesthetic. I was sexually abused by a local female (allowed it to happen bc she wouldn't take no for an answer and I hadn't reached the slapping point yet when she showed up unannounced and forced herself on me) and one night I snapped and grabbed her by the collar for crossing one too many lines and the white knights were on my lawn with torches within minutes. It's wild to watch…

I'm one of those people. Nemo me impune lacessit. "None shall provoke me with impunity." "Your right to swing your fist ends at the tip of my nose." - Patrick Henry (I think) I'm kind and generous and loving af, but I have no tolerance for some shit. If you want to act up and fight like a man, then you're going to be treated like a man. I openly admit thst I slapped a girl in 10th grade when she attacked me in the cafeteria. It was a lot like this video. I hit my breaking point and decided to ma…

Agreed on the religious points, although I'm not sure that it comes from a clear point of misogyny. And that's the thing I take issue with, the hypocrisy. "The Mary Misandrist," a self-proclaimed man-hater, speaking on behalf of every man. And I would say that, where I live, most of the women (and men) that I know who would call themselves feminists, immediately leap to "Oh, misogyny." "Oh, male privilege." at the first sign of not buying that bullshit. edit: I had a n OKC date with this chick w…
