You’re right about moot court as it just covers a specific aspect. I would join the mock trial team but I’ve been told it’s like taking another class, I’m taking 5 classes per semester and I got a year left to go. This could be luck, because the type of legal studies I want to focous on in law school is sports/entertainment law in hopes to become an agent in the NBA. I thought about entertainment law once because I have a slight interest in film production, so I took a multimedia class as an ele…

I think I just answered my own question by stepping back and looking at the big picture after a few days. Im joining all these groups but it’s strictly for my academics not my social life. Funny you mention it. I’m on the moot court team for my college at the moment. But the downside is that a lot of people do mock trial and it’s very time consuming and strict. Moot court prepares me more for all the work Im going to do in law school etc. Being a political science major, Im joining groups which …

Yeah, that’s usually my mindset in conversations. I’ll be funny enough to have left an impression and let things come to me if they do. If not, no problem. I think it’s probably something I have to keep doing. The problem is just being able to speak up to strike a convo before class or in the library sometimes. I joined in a basketball conversation with some people sitting next to me the other day. Nothing came of it because I had to go to class but I found it as a big plus, as I don’t butt into…

Hey everyone. Im in college right now and I’ve pretty much been a lone wolf with no best friends for about a couple years. I wanted to ask how to be a little less shy when talking to the people in my classes. I tend to be really funny when I’m in study groups or when I’m talking to someone I casually know at the gym. Im very reserved in who I want to open up to which makes it difficult. I don’t really make an effort to please anyone. Im sure as everybody, having like 3 or 4 people who have their…

Hey guys, I've been having trouble sticking to a weekly schedule. Taking five classes in college that are spread out through out the day along with practicing for moot court, Im pretty much struggling trying to find time to go to the gym (I go at 4 am since I can finish my workouts without being interrupted) and find time to space out assigned readings and do them in a orderly manner. This is the first time in my life where I feel Im actually busy and Im doing everything I can to set a good week…

Hey everyone. I've been having trouble speaking up during casual conversations for a while. I've grown the confidence to say morning to the regulars at the gym I go to & etc., but I would often be asked to repeat what I said or most times I would end up saying something that is less than audible to hear. I had regressed over the years and have remained soft spoken and hard to comprehend based on my conversations. I also joined the moot court team for my college recently, so speaking up is someth…

Hey everyone, Overall, I feel like Im on a decline. Im finishing up my first semester at college after transferring and realized that I have a lot of work to better myself. I've lost my passion to play pick up basketball (out muscled by shorter/ bulkier players and getting patellar tendonitis), I've lost the commitment to wake up at 3:30am to workout (bc I prefer empty gyms), and I've become very anti-social/ aloof when it comes to interacting with people. I don't see any motivation for social i…
