I was talking to my friend about this - he and I share very similar beliefs on politics, religion, gender rights, etc - and he was left speechless when I posited this idea. He's a forward thinking person, and the idea of a man being able to turn down financial obligations had never occurred to him. He just sat there with a "holy shit" look on his face, muttering "wow... That's true... Wow...."

I was just talking about this with my friend. I was saying that I wish there was a way for me to give my money directly to my daughters, instead of to their mother. But then, as long as the kids are getting what they need (food, shelter, clothing, fun, etc.) then my money is providing for them, though perhaps indirectly. If I hear that my kids aren't getting what they need, then I will raise Hell.

Interestingly, it seems to resemble a Democrat/Republican demographic map. But I'm not complaining. Milwaukee's on the +Women side.

I would add to Suggested Reading How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Otherwise, it's a great 'at-a-glance' guide. Thanks for putting this together.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
