As a traditionally very masculine man with leftist ideals I call BS, married a woman who considered herself more liberal than I was when we met just because of how I present; after actually talking about beliefs she now thinks I’m a crazy radical for wanting the most freedom possible for the most people possible

lol yeah people were saying these exact things right when it came out …15 years ago(?) As a guy with a deep-ish voice I learned to play it on the guitar and sang it all the time to draw attention to how absurd it was. Ultimate “friend zone/ incel” song when being sung by a guy; the cringe made it funny.

These are all beautiful women and I would date all of them all else being equal - except that #4 looks eerily like my mom and sisters so that’s a no from me sorry.

If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife. So from my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you.

ok this week I said something to a coworker who took it the wrong way and got in my face trying to start a fight because (in his words) “nobody disrespects me like that you fucking cocksucker!!” this guy is insecure as hell and I’ve lost any and all respect for him I once had because I accidentally poked through his facade of strength and he totally came apart-because his “strength” was only ever a projection In the words of Rudyard Kipling; “If you can keep your head when all about you Are losi…

I’ve heard it said that generally men’s greatest weakness is their projection of strength while women’s greatest strength is their projection of weakness. I don’t know exactly how true that is but it’s interesting nonetheless; and the most insecure men are often the most toxic

yeah this doesn’t work. My job requires me to be physically strong-and overtime is mandatory. I dont want to be virtually bedridden on my one actual day off a week; I want to do stuff; I want to be strong but the body has its limits and sooner or later you will be weak, whether you make time for it or not, it will happen. If you treat yourself and others like machines you can’t be surprised when they fucking break

as an introvert I have to agree. I met my wife online and to this day a good chunk of our communication is via text That last bit is most likely due to the fact that we both work insane hours though so yeah…

a lot of men talk alot about masturbation at least a lot of the more open ones in churches, but it’s obviously always negative

I’m not disagreeing but I’m missing what you mean by “it’s in the very bones of how we use our language” could you give an example or two of what you mean by that?

Can anyone here tell me how this relates to the “shit test”? I lurk here often and almost never comment because a lot of these discussions are beyond my communication skills and natural emotional intelligence. I don’t know enough about the “shit test” but from what I’ve read it seems to be in line with what OP is talking about-basically just asking if this is anywhere near the ballpark and if anyone else feels it too and can speak to that in any way

lol I’m sorry this doesn’t seem to be working out. Pretty sure the answers will be as diverse as the people giving them; I don’t believe there is a universal exchange rate-it would vary from person to person-but your basic premise rings true; I too am curious about this and am a little sad to not see any specific answers

idk about most but when my wife and I got married both of us enthusiastically wanted her to be a sahm. It’s difficult but we’re getting there. She is far from traditional in most ways, like if you can name it she probably ain’t it-except for wanting to stay at home with our kids; largely because of how she was raised in a single parent home with lots of instability. I don’t want a “traditional” wife; I want my wife. I also want my kids to grow up with at least one parent in the home. These are n…

my wife’s mom is staying with us on/off while she does chemo (we live super close to the hospital whereas her house is 45 min away largely on dirt roads) I didn’t know I was capable of judging someone so hard for this; absolutely disgusting-there’s no excuse-I get why you would do that; it’s harrd on everyone, some days I want to be done with this but you just don’t do that

My wife was absolutely blown away when I lifted a 70lb bag of cat litter, because she could not. As a part of my job I have to regularly move pieces of glass that often weigh 200+ lbs. physical strength is definitely necessary in some jobs

I love love love Klinger, I was so sad when I showed my wife MASH for the first time and she told me basically everything about the show is problematic-Klinger being at the top of the list. She wouldn’t hear any of it when I tried to tell her this was the 70’s/80’s, of course there are gonna be a lot of cringey elements (there truly are-like ALOT) but the show is redeemed by the fact that for the time the show was incredibly groundbreaking and helped pave the way for real social change-FFS the s…

As a schlubby white guy who’s been to a gym or two I have definitely noticed this (not just in the gym but especially there) I think it speaks a lot to cultural differences-I’ve heard it said that minorities have to do double the work for half the results when it comes to others’ perceptions of them because of white privilege-I have also heard quite a few minority parents (Black parents especially) talk about how they have raise their children (sons especially) to observe the bar set by their pe…

So I’m not here to point out what so many others already have-I just want to know is the term “drink-driving” a common one in certain places? I have only ever heard “drunk-driving”. Also the excessive amount of commas and poorly structured headline are quite irritating to me; am I alone in thinking this poor person who wrote this had a stroke?

It took me way too long to realize that some people just complain. It doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not down to help or do more; they’ll just complain every step of the way and that’s normal for them. Don’t ask me why, I don’t get it. And yeah, most people who do complain like this would rather not do the thing and would sit it out if given the option. But for some people, bitching and moaning are just a natural part of their life and shouldn’t be taken seriously. May not apply to your situat…

I didn’t say they were a crazy person-simply pointing out this person was calling out the original post for sexism and female exclusion. I never said it was many voices either, or even well accepted, just that it happened. And I only did so after you called me insane.
