Often they are correct. Many highly successful business people are grandiose npd. Think steve jobs. Apex fallacy. For every successful version that you find due to survivor bias, there are many more who have lost jobs, careers, and freedom from issues.

What's more frustrating is the students. The teacher is usually a bit more reserved and tries to support their point with a few facts. While we might disagree with the interpretation of those facts, there is a reasoned discussion. It has always been that way. In countries that men have all the power in divorce (i.e. islamic) men are not as likely to initiate divorce. Theoretically, men could divorce and find a better thing all the time. In America in the 1800's, women were still the more likely party to initiate divorce.
