They don't like that gay people get to have sex in a way that doesn't risk pregnancy. They don't think it's fair. Sex, according to their worldview, is supposed to be burdened with consequences. That's the same reason they were unwilling to lift a finger at the beginning of the AIDS era.

"Everyone expects us to take the problematic combative patients. They just see us as people to load problems on to. I'm a nurse because I want to be as nurturing and as caring as any of the women here." Sure, but there's also being a part of a team and playing to your strengths. I appreciate where you're coming from though. Sounds like you have the makings of a sexual harassment lawsuit if you can demonstrate that you're being put at greater risk of harm because of your gender.

Not giving women agency is harmful towards both women and men. Your choice of wording raises an eyebrow. Agency isn't something one can give to a woman, it's something she inherently has as a human being. What I hope you're meaning is that punishing women or preventing them from exercising their agency is harmful.

We’re not supposed to be more outraged at crimes against children? Is that what qualifies as a left wing take here?

This is where I get lost. What value do you place on conforming to gender expectations? If you’re going to call them into question I’m not sure I’d be criticizing people for using whatever means they have at their disposal to avail themselves of the cache that conformity would otherwise bring.

I think men are so starved for connection(see number and quality of friendships) that sex ends up being the only acceptable way to connect with another person. We're not really socialized to interact with girls growing up in many instances, unless you have sisters or something like that, so the first time we attempt to do so is when puberty forces the issue. That's the exact worst time to try to be figuring all that out. And many of us don't so we look at intercourse (term used purposefully) as …

There seems to me like a 'cheat code' almost, where by being sexually successful you can have your masculinity validated regardless of how well you fit the traditional image. I'm a little confused by your meaning here. Why would you use the term cheat code? Shouldn't a person who doesn't fit the "traditional image" have a right to have their masculinity validated?

I remember having to adjust my thinking from sad I didn’t find someone to happy I didn’t find the wrong someone. Changed the dynamic of the initial interactions with women which ended up being more carefree and less goal oriented. I discovered that if I was only interested in women for potential mates I was probably cutting myself off from a lot of otherwise beneficial relationships, for example, the girl friend who likes you and respects you enough to vouch for and advocate on your behalf to so…

I was out of work when my daughter was born. I’d been fired from my previous job when they wouldn’t approve a two week trip to Japan, where my daughter was conceived coincidentally. Didn’t get a job until seven weeks later. Those seven weeks were priceless in retrospect.

Silencing or demonizing boys in the name of progressive ideals is only reinforcing this problem, pushing them further into isolation and defensiveness. The prescription for creating a generation of healthier, more socially and emotionally competent men is the same in the wider political discourse as it is in our own homes — to approach boys generously rather than punitively. We need to acknowledge boys’ feelings, to talk with our sons in the same way we do our daughters, to hear them and empathi…

I suggest listening to Naama Kates' Incel podcast and hearing some actual interviews with actual incels who, for the most part, exhibit depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, substance abuse issues, and have nothing against women as a group or as individuals. You can have negative opinions toward individual women who treat you unfairly but adopting that opinion of all women sets you up for failure before you even start. Even honest caring, understanding women won’t want to deal with unpacking those kinds of issues when a guy comes at them like that. Being in a relationship and getting into a relationship requires vulnerability. When a guy has his guard up so defensively why would a reasonable person want to deal with that?

Here’s my hot left-wing take. It might help if so many incels didn’t have a chip on their shoulder about their problem, entitled and justified in their opinions because sex is a human need, weren’t so argumentative when hearing advice given in good faith, didn’t attack women for making their own choices about how to be a sexual person, and stopped talking about women in ways that suggest they are only interesting to them in terms of being a potential sexual partner. It would also be helpful if i…

I remember I was in a two year dry spell once. Eventually I was coming off as desperate and a little creepy about it and at some point I had to admit that to myself. I decided to find satisfaction having not taken home the wrong woman rather than despondent over not finding the right woman or any woman at all. I was able to start enjoying life and my interactions with women a lot better. Wound up making me more appealing to women as a result.

I remind people who disregard men’s issues or the challenges men face as we reorganize society in a more egalitarian fashion that it sounds like they never had an issue with oppression itself, they just didn’t like being oppressed. I guess my point is that trans people use pronouns to navigate the actual world they live in not some ideal world that you and I maybe believe should exist. It’s one of the few tools they have. I’m reluctant to strip that away from them in the name of doing it on their behalf.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates24/01/24 07:26 PM

To be fair, your girlfriend really has no idea how you come across to the rest of the world. Maybe you let your guard down around her and allow yourself to be vulnerable so she gets to see the real you but I bet that most people don’t get that from you so they have no idea that person exists. Only way to put this is that for men, consenting to intercourse is consenting to parenthood. Even if in some extreme cases the woman can be fined or jailed (stealthing, rape...), the man will still be liable for the child. You’d think this wouldn’t be a controversial statement on a left wing sub but here we are.

Why should I be sad about someone who couldn't care less for me. I've said it before on this sub, except for the masochists, you don't want to be married to someone that doesn't want to be married to you. That's not even saying that the other person doesn't deserve your affection or fidelity, just that wanting to continue a relationship with someone who is not interested is just asking for more heartache. Nobody deserves that.

You have to divorce now. Spousal support might even be non existent, or only last a couple years because you're only married 5 years now. If you want to be the one to file I'd suggest you not suggest a post nup, because that would be cause enough for her to file against you, since the ask is a sign of the writing on the wall for the marriage.

What’s even worse if 50% of marriages end in divorce but of the 50% remaining I bet a high percentage of them are not happy either. It certainly would be x>0 that's for sure. I went to marriage counseling once a few years into my marriage. Was my wife's idea. I was blindsided. I thought we had a perfectly normal yet imperfect marriage. Within the course of one hour the counselor backed up nearly everything I said and made it plain that I was an entirely reasonable person who was giving my marriage everything I had. A: Don't feel like it. Q: Why? A: "My body, my choice, my decision". And if they say something along the lines of "Shame on you!", just mention that shame is not an argument. This is the perfect response.

Not MGTOW myself, but you absolutely have the right to not want to get involved with a woman who has children. Your friends were out of line.

I don't normally upvote MGTOW posts but when I do it's ones like this. Hopefully this guy figures out he's in a losing situation and gets the hell out of that relationship.

To me it read like the guy cheated and she wrote this list as a set of conditions to be met if they were to stay together. I suppose that this is reasonable, maybe, under a specific set of circumstances. But half way through the list I though to myself that it doesn't even really matter and that the guy needs to run fast and not look back. Most women, even if they think this way, don't have the balls to state it outright or to commit it to the permanent record by writing it out. I wish the poor …

He didn't break in so they can't charge him with that. I think the burglary charge is an overcharge to get him to plead down to trespassing. Seems like he plead guilty to the original charge though.
/r/MGTOW05/09/17 05:35 PM

He entered another man's house without permission so the video he took of them getting it on was illegal. Not sure where the burglary charge comes from. Maybe he walked out of the house with something in his anger.

She really didn't think this through. I like how self important she was that she remembered to include all the necessary hashtags.

Does the guy post his games on youtube and get advertisers to pay him? Maybe not a "real job" but if it pays the bills I'm not going to criticize him for it.

These are the type of errors you normally can't fix in the relationship where they occurred. Maybe she can behave better going forward.

I'm with /u/Oz70NYC here. Most black voters always vote for the Democrat. In either 2008 or 2012, that percentage was only 3%-4% above the norm, which is not enough by a long shot to have tipped the elections in Obama's favor if they would otherwise have voted for the Republican.

Now see, of all the comments you've posted so far, this one is the closest we've gotten to almost rational. There might be hope for this woman. Probably not but might be.

I personally think that any man who is willing to take on another man's child is instantly more attractive that a "man" such as yourself. Yeah, I bet she does. LOL. She kinda has to think that way, doesn't she? She's not really thinking this through.

Yeah, it seems that he got them so triggered that they're unable to craft a coherent argument. It's definitely entertaining. OP has made my morning with this one.

Why can't he say the same? I don't see any reason why not. I'm not even mgtow (but sympathetic) and I think this guy is 100% right.

You think you're going to sneak this story past a major publisher? You do know they read every page you give them and can pull the plug at any time, right? Might be a better idea to self publish and self promote. Best of luck to you.

Not watching the video but it's really common sense that your problem is with the one who cheated on you, the one who owes you fidelity, not the one they cheated with, someone who never made any promises to you (unless he's a friend, but still the obligations are different).

It's the side effect of the success of PreP and other HIV treatments. People aren't as afraid of HIV anymore so they're willing to forgo condoms during intercourse. I know doctors working in clinics whose patients now turn down the free condoms where they used to take all they could get; now they just want the free lube.

Book of proverbs is pretty good too. I forget the chapter and verse but the one that sticks out in my memory is "a nagging wife is like a faucet that goes drip, drip, drip. It's better to live on the roof than with a nagging wife."

Sounds like she thought that you thought it was a date, since it was only going to be the two of you. Then she invited somebody else along as a buffer in case she was right, and then just acted like casually spending time together was the more important than the pool game. And why was it worth mentioning that the friend on facetime was gay? I'd chalk this one up to a failure to have a meeting of the minds at the onset, rather than a women suck thing.

I suppose I can sort of appreciate the reasoning behind most of the items on this list, but the one that really gets me is the last one where a man can be on the hook for child support for a child that isn't his because he didn't challenge paternity right away and the child has come to think of the man as his father. I read a story not too long ago where a guy's wife got pregnant and he was happy to be a father. Maybe a year later things didn't work out so they got divorced. He's not thrilled bu…

If you're serious about breaking into the field, then you may be faced with doing what women or minorities have historically done to gain a foothold: bring a law suit. The fact that this hasn't happened already sort of demonstrates a major difference between the struggle as it is faced by women/minorities vs. men, i.e. that man still have lots of options. These lawsuits have been brought in the past because the people felt like their backs were against the wall and that they didn't have many opt…

I think this is probably true of any profession or other group that has been largely homogenous, be it by gender, or race, or age. I bet you that they don't even realize they're doing those things, or if they are, that they have some ostensibly reasonable excuse for behaving that way.

I remember my younger, dumber, more or less same looking brother nailing the hottest girls I'd ever seen while I was continually friendzoned. One day I asked him about that and he told me that if I wanted to get laid I should try being an asshole and watch all kinds of high quality women throw themselves at him. My 'nice guy' sensibilities couldn't handle that sensible advice. I'm happy now, but I'm not sure that it wouldn't have been a good idea to listen to him. I mean, these girls were amazin…

You have to understand why women would be confused as its all too logical. Sex with someone you care about is preferable to sex with someone you don't care about is preferable to sex with yourself, but the unavailability to have the ideal won't stop a young guy from choosing option two or three. Especially when option one is stringing you along.
