I would suggest clubs, but you've already said you don't like them. Clubs are great because there are just so many people. The only disadvantage you'd have at a club, or anywhere for that matter, is that usually men are expected to approach the woman first. I often see single men at clubs sitting at bars, or in outdoor areas (for smoking) and from there they make a move on someone who catches their eye. I'm also a single mother, so there are plenty of scholarships/grants that would give me a free ride. I only accept some federal, and the ones from shops like mine that donate to people in my field that want to become engineers. I've never signed up for anything that I would simply get because I am a girl, or a mother. I also get some scholarships from competitions that I have competed in. Yeah, I definitely meant that as they would possibly be getting a tax break, not by paying me less or anything! We get performance based reviews, and follow very fair pay scale guidelines. I was always told having a range of people working for a company gets the company a tax break of some kind? I have a family member who had only African-American males working for him, and when he goes to do taxes for his company they apparently give him shit for it. I took a vocational program that was traditionally all men, and even though I only have about five years experience I could get a job anywhere.
