From my understanding (criminal law classes, general knowledge of political landscape, etc) its mostly a terrifying combination of bad policy and a complete lack of funding towards mental health. Should not ever be done to children. Informed consent of the child only, unless the child absolutely needs the foreskin removed because of infection or something of the like. Thats the only way this should be, it covers all bases.

Correlation does not equal causation. All the bias is, is claiming that this correlation is definitely causation. It isn't, there are wayyyy too many different variables in play to show causation.
