If you're on the journey for the road, not the destination, you're fulfilled the whole time. And at any rate, people are too important to me to want to abandon all worldly attachments, as enlightenment demands. As I said, since I believe after death there is nothing, why spend my life in meditation and seeking a goal I might not achieve when I could have been loving and living life in all of its glorious, fecund messiness?

I seek sensation, which all things considered I find more real than anything else. I agree that the world is not real in any fundamental sense. It just doesn't bother me, nor lead me to believe I'll be happier if I act like I'm not real in any fundamental sense.

I guess I disagree with your starting proposition. The maxim I subscribe to is the opposite of this. It seems far more plausible to me that after we die is just like before we are born than any other possibility. Accordingly my main concern is accumulating as many good stories to look back on as possible, and to try to do so while being good to the people I care about and vice versa. To each his own. "Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you togeth…

Maybe if you limit your definition of "fine" to biologically alive, but that's too narrow for me.

Okay I read through a page or two of your history and I was going to be a huge dick but then I saw you like The Thing so you can't be all bad. So I'll leave the name-calling out of it.* Yes, from a Buddhist perspective no one needs to fuck, and failing to rid ourselves of such needs is the root of misery. However if you decline to accept the founding axioms of Buddhism, your conclusion is not inevitable. In fact the great majority of biology, psychology, and indeed most human culture itself sugg…

The worst is when you're going home together and you have to shit. Especially if you're not on the home field. This is why now if I'm at the bar and I feel a dump conjouring I just bite the bullet and use the bar shitter, as much as it sucks.

She probably told you you're a fucking idiot because the "help me settle a bet" line is as old as fucking time. Particularly when it's opinion based and totally non situational, it's about as transparent as it comes.

Well, we are kind of in the business of charlatanism here I suppose.

I'm in law school and if OP wasn't just exaggerating to this broad he's out of his fucking mind, IMO. That or he's a pretty hardcore gunner (pretty much the same thing.)

The vast majority of it boils down to " talk to everybody, have fun, be yourself." About half of the remainder is, essentially, be cheeky/confident. Generic perhaps, but neither bad nor categorically different from what he would get here.

Most people (e.g. me) are pretty bad dancers from a technical standpoint. Do it a bit more and you realize the folks who attract people on the dancefloor aren't great dancers, they're just having a great deal of fun. A few months ago my friend and I were dancing in a club in London on a Motown/soul night. Like I said, I'm no great shakes and people have actually commented to me about her dancing being pretty bad before. However we got a couple drinks in us and into our groove and both of us lite…

Simplest + easiest solution: start drinking at bars. Try to become a regular somewhere that's not huge/super busy.

Sounds a bit transparent unless the person in question is a mutual acquaintance.

Yeah but if this is all supposed to be based on "biomechanics" and evolutionary psychology then that's retarded: more ethnically (genetically) diverse sexual partners = better according to biology.

Thanks, but I don't think I'll take life advice from an old racist who spends his time on /b/ and by the looks of it married badly and had kids with someone he shouldn't have.

Good rule of thumb. I feel like there's a pretty huge difference between the signal sent by removing a belt and removing shoes, though.

How am I defending anyone's honor? I'm simply saying I call people I've just met what they introduce themselves as. I didn't think that was a controversial thing to do. As a tangential point, I find it amusing how again and again seddit brushes off people who say practices are creepy with "but I have sex with girls I do it to!!!" I'm sorry, but I'm part of a social scene, and I'm not willing to go to any length to fuck people. Moreover, it isn't necessary to. This refusal to accept the (fairly o…

Didn't mean to diminish OP's credit whatsoever. He avoided fucking anything up admirably. Just saying it would seem this story has more to do with Darwin than any conscious behavior.

Great FR, but I feel like this is going to mislead a lot of people. As a FR, this will be read as displaying tested "techniques." But your success had nothing to do with your technical proficiency. She is into you and you are clearly into her- the mechanics of it are ancillary at most. Bottom line, this is a story about two people who pheremonally self-selected each other. To take it as a template is dubious, to adopt as a plan of action even more so. However I should add that none of this dimin…

Ask her about something you've observed about her. Listen, then ask her about something she mentioned in her response. Rinse and repeat. People in our society festoon themselves with significations about who they are and what's important to them (clothes, band/place t-shirts, laptop backgrounds, etc.) Smalltalk will give you some idea about who she is, pick up on it. You: "the campus bus was really bad this morning" Her: "Was it? Well I drive because I live on the east side" You "The east side, …

If you have any female going out buddies, hitting a gay club/gay night with them can be a lot of fun. The places are usually a third hot straight girls anyway, and wingwomen help you overcome the fact that those straight girls are there specifically not to get hit on.

Well played sir. However the whole business of having beer pong at a bar has always seemed extremely odd to me.

Confidence and accepting yourself is one thing, but completely ignoring the truth is not good. In this case, actually it can be (within limits.) You can believe you are "extremely handsome" it does not mean that other people see this as truth. The point everybody's trying to make is that, because of the importance of confidence, to some extent it does mean that other people see you this way.

Seems to me she essentially meant "so what is our deal going to be" to be an invitation for you to make a move, not as a LJBF. In that context she was basically asking you to make the decision about whether or not to go to that guy's party for her. It's almost like an assertiveness test, I think girls generally want you to say "fuck that other plan, go with mine" when they ask you what they should do when one of the options is in your favor.
