I was in your position last year. Admittedly I am 8 years younger, but I agree with Louis CK's take on it "I'm not saying don't get married, but definitely get divorced". I haven't been this happy in years and I didn't know how big the emotional toll was. I'm betting that someone who gives you an ultimatum to propose isn't going to be sad. They're most likely going to be mad and blame you. Luckily this will only validate your unhappy feelings and you're going to feel great about doing it once she leaves the room. I did it 6 months ago and while I'm not against marriage, I'm definitely for divorce. Good luck!
