So who do you vote for? Just be open one way or the other. Either we're all about perfect equality, or discrimination is ok. The system and the world as a whole will be fine either way, just be fucking consistent. I see "Indian only" in room/apartment/house rental ads all the time, and it wouldn't bother me so much if the reverse wouldn't cause a media storm.

I was JUST thinking about this last night -- not so much as my opinion, but as a thought experiment of where society ends up after continued extremity like this. I'm almost certain that it makes a full swing to social conservatism, but of course with a bunch of nameless, genderless, personality-less zombies. It's been a marked distinction for probably 30+ years, but within the past 20 or so it's evolved to a point where entire cities revolve around the fact that the population is mostly from x region. You even get stores that just plain don't have English writing anywhere...kinda like a less intense Chinatown, but the whole city.

Southern Ontario and southwestern BC both have a very large number of Asians (both east and south). A number of cities surrounding Toronto are actually white-minority. Brampton is mostly south Asian and Markham is mostly Chinese. Of course, that only just offsets the sprawling rural area where you might have one black kid in a school.

Wow, you should seriously take this up the ladder. To be honest, the concept of a "women/trans representative" sounds ridiculous in itself. The world is not men-vs-women (or whatever classifications one subscribes to), we should have an equality representative. Of course, if the goal is to create a dichotomy, then there should be representatives for both 'sides' but to even have a representative dedicated to one 'side' is completely opposed to the equality they preach.

In fairness, some of these cases are situations where a perfectly fine relationship was happening (as fine as student-teacher relationship can be...just in the sense that the 16/17 year old is realistically old enough to make the decision to sleep with a 23 year old), and either the kid gets mad and tells someone, or someone finds out and reports. Notice that it's statutory rape, not necessarily rape in the traditional sense.
