I said their egos can't handle the idea that men they don't care about might feel the same way about them, No. Women do not care what these men think. Seriously. They do not care that the men aren't interested. It literally is because these men are potentially dangerous/unhinged. Women are not bothered by these men ignoring/rejecting them, trust me.

Exactly. Women getting to choose their mate is a brand new concept, honestly it's only been what - 50-60 years that women have been pretty much completely free to choose? Of course things are going to be bumpy. In the next few generations things will hopefully right themselves, as women selectively choose to mate with the men they are actually attracted to.

I mean I think it's hard to say the exact social dynamics involved since this practice is centuries old. But yes, I can see that mothers would want their daughters to have the best chance in life - and instead of upending the system they instead encourage the daughter to marry the man with the most resources (even if he is 50, an alcoholic, and an abuser). Again, the girl's desire is ignored.

Ideally this would be the case, but women's mate selection was artificially suppressed for centuries by a system that subjugated them.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/22 04:36 PM

Forced by their fathers, you mean. This is a system created by and benefiting men. Women were forced to marry because they were not allowed to work or being in meaningful capital to the family.

Men didn't allow women to have any resources... which is why they were forced to exchange sex for it. AKA - women being forced to fuck men they don't want to because they're not allowed to have money themselves. Why is this hard to understand?

Men made the rules by forcing women to mate with men they did not find attractive for centuries, so over time fewer and fewer men are born that are actually attractive to women.

Well instead of blaming themselves, it's easier for these men to dehumanize women, blame them, and argue that the solution is to go back to subjugating them. Just as their forefathers did.

If we want to get to the truth of men’s current suffering regarding dating/sex, it’s sort of a black pill reality. The truth is that for centuries, men have been using their brute strength to control and subjugate women. Women had no rights, no ability to survive without a man, and NO ability to actually mate with who they were attracted to. Men gave themselves a huge artificial advantage. This has led to a bunch of offspring from men that women didn’t find attractive, who then had more offsprin…

Exactly. Most men don't realize that women don't desire them nearly as much as they think. These older women are not jealous, they literally don't want to see younger women repeating their mistakes. The image of the salty older woman jealous of the younger woman getting attention is mostly male fantasy. Overwhelmingly, women have in group bias towards each other, and want to protect and help each other (despite the media's obsession with representing women as a catty bitches to each other).

Hunger is not a problem because no one is entitled to food The problem with this analogy is that requiring sex means actually having to force someone else to participate. No one is entitled to food taken from another person in an intimate way. No one has their bodily autonomy directly violated when we subsidize food.

why so many women complain about not finding a guy I see this much much more from men complaining about women than the other way around. I know of no single women in my social circle (professionals in late 20s/30s) and can think of 4-7 single guys quite readily.

The argument is not 'muh genetics' and trying to simplify it to that really doesn't do anyone favors. It has absolutely nothing to do with discipline and instead genes being methylated (aka 'turned on or off') depending on environmental factors. Once again, there is a mountain of data that supports this very basic theory, and how epigenetics applies to obesity. And yes, for you to dismiss obvious science so easily because it doesn't fit your narrative of 'fat people just eat garbage lol' suggest…

Bullshit. Genetic factors, of which 20-30+ years ago didn't exist since barely anyone was fat? Did these genetics magically mutate since 1990? It's almost like the concept of gene x environment interactions are lost on you... the environment radically changed in the past few decades, which is affecting some people genetically and predisposing this to obesity. This is well established science. I'm guessing you are not a medical professional and are completely unfamiliar with the data in this fiel…

Most men provide and offer a lifestyle to allow the wife to stay home and do what she wants while raising their kids. No. This was only somewhat true in the 1950s/60s and that was an anomaly because the US had a ridiculous amount of economic advantage after WWII. Women have always worked.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/18 10:25 PM

This is not true. Social mobility in the US is not that great and many European countries are superior. Interestingly social mobility here (the us) has not worsened despite worsening wealth despairing, tough. https://www.economist.com/news/united-states/21595437-america-no-less-socially-mobile-it-was-generation-ago-mobility-measured

I don't know how anyone could think men love more unconditionally. Wasn't there a study that showed when one partner gets terminally ill men are twice as likely to leave their dying wives than woman are to leave their dying husbands? Yeah... "unconditional"...

Honestly I don't think women care about MGTOW, they were never interested in those men anyway, so who cares if they go? Also, the only people I see who are "reactionary" are the MGTOWs themselves. That sub is nothing but salty, salty, bitter, tears reinforced by confirmation bias and group think. Also, lets not forget the irony of a sub for men who are somehow "going away" from women yet that sub is basically nothing but discussion of women literally nonstop... heterosexual men can't help themse…

Haha. Well, I am a healthcare provider (psychiatry specialist) so I have a small, small feeling that my understanding of hormones as well as psychiatry far surpass yours. But please, why don't you "educate" me about what exact hormonal system (organ, hormone itself, etc.) you feel is related to your argument and we can go from there. Once again, my argument has nothing to do with feelings but instead with the massive amount of research that indicates women internalize and men externalize. I'm mo…

Actually I think single men have it far worse. Women are happiest post divorce and when single. Men are happiest when married. There's a lot of data on that. Women tend to have an easier time being single because they have more social support from friends and family. There's a reason the old, white, single men have the highest suicide rate by far. It's not because they're happy. Add a drinking problem and handgun ownership and you have a suicide epidemic among single older men. They call the sou…

What? That's patently untrue. Causing the suffering of others is a literal criteria for ASPD and substance use disorders. All the armchair psychiatrists in this thread are making me cranky. Crack open a DSM next time.

Eh. There's actually a mountain of data to support that women are internalizers and men are externalizers. I was a researcher in a child psychology lab and this finding is something we see over and over again. I know ppd is not exactly a place where people pay attention to research that goes against their subjective "feels" but this is not a controversial finding whatsoever and, like I said, is commonplace enough to be seen as a "given" when studying child psychopathology. I will follow up with …

Certainly not, the genesis is the recent discovery of a cure for ED. Sildenafil (Viagra) and then the more recent Cialis are cash cows not because men have more ED than in the past, but because there is now a treatment that works very well. Men who are past their prime can suddenly go back to having good sex. It is natural for men to experience some degree of ED as they age, and their testosterone levels wane.

They also have some of the highest suicide rates (South Korea, Japan). Also, you're ignoring genetics. Asian people are much more likely to become diabetic from eating a Western diet compared to a Westerner, for example.

based on what data? All the recent data I have seen shows that the divorce rate is on the decline. If the woman is college-educated and older than 24, the divorce rate is as low as 20%.

Wow, because a relation like that isn't potentially riddled with confounding factors. Are these women educated? Uneducated? How old were they when they got married? Do they have kids? What kind of income do they make? I really wish people were required to understand some bare basics of research methodology before being allowed to cite studies.

We're not talking about outliers on either end of the spectrum, we're talking about averages. Women outperform men consistently when it comes to investing. In fact, the fact that mostly men are at the top tier of investing makes my argument even stronger. The men at the top will skew the data giving men a falsely high average, yet the women's average still wins out. It would be best to compare medians. The fact that women make better investors is fascinating to me, since investing takes both log…

Women do this (sending flowers to themselves, creating dating profiles when already in a relationships, etc.) all the time? Really? I have never done anything like that... and I know of no women who have done anything like that outside of a sitcom. Also, if a woman were to do that and other women were to find out, they would definitely judge her very negatively.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/15 08:41 PM

Women don't normally give men threesomes in relationships, usually it only happens in a context where the woman cheated and wants to get the man back Do you have any research whatsoever to support this notion?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/15 08:38 PM

Hmm. I actually think that's a social narrative that people cling to that isn't necessarily supported by research. Research shows that women outperform men consistently when it comes to investing, for example, mostly because they are more risk averse and less likely to jump ship (aka: act impulsively/emotionally). A lot of research shows that put in certain situations, both genders can act illogically or emotionally. For example, men tend to pay strippers more when they're ovulating - this is cl…

The reason she can't stop reading those blogs is because it's a fantasy. Utah has the highest antidepressant usage out of every state in the country and the vast majority of prescriptions are rx'd to its women. My cousin had a similar (though non-Mormon) 'mommy blog'... and trust me, her actual daily life was not what she had portrayed online.
