I think a lot of people just mean there are things you don’t have to worry about that women do. As a man, you don’t have to worry about pissing off a client because they make a pass at you - and you’re probably fucked no matter what you do. It also feels like you have to walk this fine line between being the appropriate amount of attractive, which gets you hit on, and being unattractive, which gets you invisible / criticized. Not all women, but yes, there are some insecure women who feel validated by men fighting over her. Personally I find it repulsive, and it makes me feel like a possession. I do appreciate a man who has my back and can handle himself if shit goes down, but people are so crazy, all that means to me is let’s get the fuck out of here safely. I’ve seen too many people fucked up for life over stupid pride and posturing to a crazy drunk asshole.
