Some addictions run deeper than others. In the span of the past 2 years I was able to quit smoking effortlessly, lose 70 lbs relatively easily (though I still have ~15 to go), eat healthy instinctively - but the porn I can't seem to quit. I realized it gave me PIED so it was my plan to quit cold turkey May 1st. Thank you for the reminder and motivation.

The worry is subjective, yet you let it become an unmovable, objective truth. Here's a quick, broad example: you just landed your dream job, yet you keep worrying you'll fuck up and get fired. You can't stop being stressed about it. Now on your next day off, walk three blocks away from your home and find the first blue door. Ring the bell and tell the person how you are genuinely worried they will lose their job. How you keep losing sleep imagining what were to happen if they fuck up so bad they…

She practiced choking moves... on you? How is that passing a shit test exactly? Even if you're trying to pretend you're not interested in her, that's a big red (or blue) flag. Your instinct should've been to playfully downplay it and reverse the situation, "I'll only learn if I'm the one doing the move, teach me the MMA way, champ." I've been in a similar situation and I was very teasing and gentle, it wasn't the competition she expected. We tried a couple positions and I would tickle her at the…

I'm indeed cutting down carbs and fat. No more processed shit. Breakfast: black coffee, oats porridge with oat milk Lunch: chicken/turkey/tuna/sardines (not cooked in oil if I heat it) and quinoa/lentils/tabouleh Dinner: a bit of leftover protein and some salad/green beans and a couple tomatoes. I'm always under 1,500 kcal daily for two reasons: I'm not hungry enough (I eat 700-1100 kcal) and I'm trying to exercise as much/a bit more than I eat. I'm mostly breaking even or I have a very minor ca…

Alright I've looked into it some more and I won't be doing it just yet. I'm averaging 5~6 lbs of weight loss per week. I'm fine with that. I like what I eat, the quantity and quality of the ingredients. I have no deficiencies and I've never felt a snacking urge. I love having a lot of energy, which allows me to exercise rather intensely (for my fat ass at least) between 30 mins to an hour per day, every day of the week. I might give it a try for the last few pounds, only if I feel like it.

Thank you very much, it's really detailed. I will do my research before jumping into this. Thankfully I've traveled a lot so different, "strange" foods don't phase me. Chicken breast gets old very, very quickly indeed. Ketosis is extremely interesting! I paid $60 to see a nutritionist, I asked a lot of questions and the cocksucker never even mentioned this. I feel cheated now. I've just done a bit of reading but it makes so much sense already. My body has been used to consuming carbs for energy …

The hardest part of the journey for me was taking the first step into that gym. Now I sincerely enjoy doing cardio and lifting. I appreciate feeling almost exhausted after a session. I may have a lot of excess weight but I have the habit of walking around proudly. Straight, shoulders back, chest raised and belly tucked-in. Read about posture, it does wonders. I'm not the fat, slumped over guy nobody notices or worse they'd make fun of. I'm showing myself, fuck you if you judge me, it doesn't aff…

I'm 29 years old, 5'7 I weigh 207 lbs, body mass index 32.4, I don't have the tools to mesure myself for the fat % but I look like the last male pictured (30-32%). Thanks for taking the time to help me. I actually enjoy cardio, I do at least 20 mins a day with at least 10 mins of light weight lifting so this diet is very different than mine, but still very interesting.

I'm 5'7 and 50 lbs overweight. How would I have the strength and endurance to train while eating only 67 grams of protein (if my math is correct)? How did you manage to maintain a high level of energy to keep exercising?

Good on you, I have a similar mindset! I'm 5'7, I was 227 pounds four weeks ago when I started eating right and doing a bit of bike riding. I joined a gym weighing 216 lbs a week and a half ago. I'm now 206, still way too fat but vindicated by the early results. I don't care about others' opinions. Not for all the money/women/success in the world would I instantly trade places with some buff handsome millionaire. Not that I'm superior to him, not at all, we're all different and unique. I feel co…

Hey thanks man I'll check the app! I'm not embarrassed. Today was my second day, and to my surprise there were two guys fatter than me rowing/biking with a coach. But anyway I was solo this time, the beginning was hard but I LOVE when I reach that endorphin plateau. I just kept going, kept going and I felt GREAT. Okay, it was just 1h30 but I must've sweat a bucket and I'm still riding that high. Can't wait to get back to it tomorrow!

You're right, this is what I meant by diet. I changed my mindset, junk food isn't appealing anymore, I now really love eating healthier and its implications. I'm seeing a nutritionist so those new habits are more tailored to me. More importantly it never feels like a punishment, more like a good, logical reward to eat that way.

I thought I'd be an outsider in this community but I talked with a guy on the parking lot afterwards, he gave me diet tips. Even though some guys appeared to be cold they were just working on themselves, focusing - a couple of them came by during their breaks and gave me equipment tips or were just generally positive. That's my main takeaway: they were all optimistic, about themselves, myself or self improvement in general. That's really what I needed, I love that atmosphere. Very welcoming, a g…

The pain was gradual, I'm thankful I had professional help. "How does this/that muscle feel? It's burning? It's a great sign! etc" They didn't push me straight away, it was a building-up rhythm my body could keep up with. They had a circle of 8 different machines to focus on indivial areas, I'd do a quick lap then some cardio, then another lap and so forth. When I realized where I was and what I was doing the pain/discomfort was easy to overlook. Then the endorphin/the rush kicked in and I was e…

Narcissism and Machiavellianism never got me anywhere worthwhile. I've been reading this book recently, I found it helps with women of course but basic interactions with anyone as well. It's a great blueprint, it's more about finding and expanding your true Alpha self than using arcane techniques to pass off as an Alpha. Don't be only invested in you. Be driven, invested in yourself but make a bit of room for someone else. Don't brag but enjoy sharing yourself with someone who deserves it. Be in…
