Hair is one way to make a character unique. Ryu from street fighter is generic, Adon is not. Hair then becomes a part of costuming, which while it has the function of attractiveness, holds a greater function of differentiation and creating uniqueness. 1	Is this really something everyone should worry about? Haha, sometimes I don't really get this subreddit. I wholeheartedly agree with the ideal of humanism and true equality, but I feel that sometimes people here swing to the complete other end of the spectrum. While that may be true, I find that looking at a cartoon as an adult, specifically in terms of their misogynistic/misandrist slant, is ultimately a counterproductive enterprise. Cartoons remain an enterprise for children, and, as long as they do not have a lasting impressionistic impact on the way children view the world, we should leave them be. I can't really say because I don't watch many cartoons anymore, but as I see it, the popular ones like spongebob and adventure time don't really have this problem. To be fair, if we do a close analysis of the characters in Disney movies and their various actions and motivations, we fins that there is a slight misogynistic slant in Disney movies.
