The fact that men on the titanic died in larger numbers also doesn't "detract" from the fact that women didn't have the right to vote. They do not cancel each other out, and I never tried to imply that they did; what I said was that I would rather have been a man during that time period, because men had more rights and opportunities in general.

The logic behind your post makes no sense at all. You're trying to imply that because a very tiny percentage of the population of men died during the sinking of the Titanic, it would have been better to be a woman during that time period. I knew someone was going to take this out of /r/dataisbeautiful and repost it here. Need I point out that at this point in US history, the 19th amendment hadn't even been passed and women didn't have the right to vote in many cases? I'm a little shaky on this point, but I believe it was still considered acceptable to beat your wife as well. The only reason I'd want to be a woman if I were living in the early 1900s was if I had come from the future and knew I would be going on the Titanic.

They do now. They honestly didn't used to. I think there were only 10K members when I joined, and it was much better then. Along those same lines, when I joined /r/motorcycles, there were only ~1K subscribers, and most of them were actually experienced motorcyclists. Now there are over 40K, and the majority of them don't even ride.

Ads that offend people get pulled all the time; It's not like this is an anomaly. The commercial shows guys going out and making major purchases without consulting their partners, their partners becoming irate, and then ends in a way that suggests doing the same thing could be a good idea that you won't regret. I have a pretty basic understanding of the principles of game, but that is mostly incorrect. Girls do technically want to be pursued, but part of game theory is to have her call you. You don't constantly barrage her with texts, or act needy. You're supposed to appear like you have options, and too much chasing does not give that appearance.
