Agree. The real issue is how to keep the true misogynists off any site. Seems they don't themselves realize what they are. Feminists are actually quite happy to see the misogynists derail any coordinated effort at men's rights.

I'm an older guy, well-established, secure job, as are most of my friends. I've tried to get them interested in men's rights, they just shrug, because it hasn't affected them so far. I've tried to get guys interested in an online movement, it gets no traction. Complacency and laziness. Look at Matt Damon. The only reason feminists are getting traction these days is because of social media. That enables the relatively small number of feminists to make a big splash, and convince the public that they represent the wishes of far more women than they actually do. There's no reason a collection of men couldn't do the same, and generate far more energy than the feminists do. I have no clue why men don't do this. Complacency and laziness, I guess.,

If he ever goes out with her again, even as friends, then he's no different from a woman who keeps going back to an abusive guy. You feel sorry for them, but you often can't change them until they've had enough abuse. Maybe all the men in his life were weak, and took that sort of abuse placidly.

Didn't say marriage is to blame. My father was betrayed in a terrible way by my mother, in a way that would have made me as an adult otherwise walk away from a woman, but he couldn't, because he was married and had kids with her. Don't get married if you want to be able to walk away from a terrible betrayal.

I'm saying in the US, women take a strong stand pro-circumcision, because most think foreskin is "gross." Many polls have shown that, and it corresponds to what most women here say. Nearly every guy in the porn industry is cut. Religion has very little to do with it here, at least any more. It is woman-driven, and men who don't know any better just go along. Or since it was done to them, they just think it's the thing to do, though that's no excuse. Men are guilty of complicity.

I'm probably older than most of you, I'm 53, but have been dating steadily for literally 37 years. You need to fight back against that, not just let it pass. Point out what she's doing. Say to her: "Stop avoiding my question. Stop calling me names just because you have no real answer. Stop hiding. Answer my question." Keep saying it till she engages in the conversation, or walks away. To anyone listening, you'll automatically be winning, against someone just trying to insult you.

The cops are a real problem, due to a combination of laziness and spinelessness. Years ago, they would not charge a guy if they got the sense the woman was lying or said anything inconsistent, but they wouldn't dare do this now. You should never let anyone hit you without doing something about it, even if just reporting it to someone in authority. A lot of women think they have a free pass to hit a guy as long as it isn't damaging physically, but letting them do so just invites more abuse. Certainly the practice should be stopped. The only reason it continues in the US is because the majority of women in this country prefer a man to be circumcised. When it comes to circumcision, women are clearly "Your body, my choice." And in most states, I believe only one parent's consent is required. My mother had me circumcised the day after I was born, behind my father's back, who was totally against it happening. He was furious. Yet another reason not to get married.

I think the bigger reason they sold out their teammate was to please the women members of the team. I've noticed a lot of young men now seem hesitant to stand up to women in general. I wonder if there is a woman coach involved somehow. "Verdict first, trial later (or not at all)."

"Femsplaining" is a better term. I agree that "mansplaining" is a slur, no different than any other perjorative term. They're prejudging what is being said, and automatically dismissing it simply because a man is saying it, which is exactly what they accuse men of doing to them. Hypocrisy on steroids. I've used the term femsplaining a number of times. Seems to really knock them back.

There's no doubt that in the US, men and women are now being held to different standards, both inside and outside of the legal system. It's not a left/right issue, but rather a PR issue. Social media allows small groups of people to have huge megaphones with which to protest, and since the majority can't be bothered to care one way or another, the minority wins. There needs to be a coordinated men's movement to push back.

It's not up to you to refute that--it is up to her to prove it. Ask her for an exact reference, or else you disregard it completely. I suspect whatever she is referring to is made up, or from some obscure pseudo-scientific place like a feminist website online poll.

Lots of good observations here. But the root problem is that the false accusations, even if they go nowhere legally, have significant repercussions in the life of the accused, because typically his (or rarely her) employment/career suffers in some way. That's only because the boss is only motivated to avoid bad PR, not be equitable or just. What we need is coordinated action of our own, to apply equal pressure in the direction of fairness.
