You're describing men as having an uncontrollable addiction that drives them to rape women if they can't find a willing partner and wondering why so many men are having trouble getting laid? If you really feel that men are barely-restrained sex monsters, haven't you answered your own question?

Aside from his voice? His transphobia, misogyny, pseudo-intellectualism, and the fact that he tells people to take responsibility for their lives, but when his wife got cancer he got addicted to benzos. He has no business giving anyone life advice.

Tupac's "Keep Ya Head Up": Since we all came from a woman, got our name from a woman, and our game from a woman. I wonder why we take from women, why we rape our women, do we hate our women? I think its time we killed for our women, be real to our women, try to heal our women, cus if we dont we'll have a race of babies that will hate the ladies, who make the babies. And since a man can't make one he has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one

You should read this post and some of the comments. There's a good chance those guys' wives expressed their needs many, many times and were ignored. That was my experience. My ex-husband didn't care about my unhappiness until I was leaving him. https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoXChromosomes/comments/11dy5kc/you_cannot_make_him_understand/

Lying to a woman to trick her into having sex with you has consequences - who could have guessed? I don't know if what you did was technically a crime, but I think it probably should be, and I can understand why she would call you a rapist. You took away her ability to give FULL, informed consent. You obtained something that you would not have gotten without deception. That's a crime when it applies to property. Why is a woman's body worth less than someone's property?
/r/MensRights27/02/23 05:52 PM

Your reply isn't showing up here, but it is in my inbox. The issue is that she does not agree retroactively. She has every right to be upset with me, but she does not have a right to threaten me on every level by labelling me a rapist. You just stated that I had her consent. She cannot decide after the fact that she did not consent and that I raped her, when she in fact consented. That is my point. I regret not being truthful for her and I feel terrible holding that inside of me, I understand it…

If he read what you've shared here, he would immediately know that it was about him. So would his abusive wife, potentially putting him at even greater risk. Have you told him you're sharing these details publicly on Reddit?

Are you a professional of some sort? If a therapist or medical professional publicly shared this level of specific, personal detail about a client or patient without their consent, they'd be putting their licensure at risk.

If someone lies in order to get money or property, it's called fraud or theft. If someone lies about their identity to get access to a location, it's called trespassing. What do we call it when someone lies to get sex?

If I were you (or if I were your lawyer), I think I'd be more concerned about how these Reddit conversations would look if they were discovered and brought up in court, but if getting reassurance from strangers on Reddit is worth that risk to you, by all means go for it.

You didn't just "not disclose your sexual history." She asked you a direct, specific question about your activities the night before, and you lied to her, knowing full well that if you told her the truth, she would NOT consent to having sex with you. Did you use a condom? Can you be certain that you didn't transmit a disease from your date to your ex? Have you mentioned these public Reddit posts to your lawyer, by the way?

This was someone who I have had sex with hundreds of times It does not matter how many times you had sex with her before. mind you I did not force her to have sex with me in anyway, it was mutual The fact stands that if you had not deceived/coerced her, she would not have had sex with you. "Mutual" is not the correct word, since you had to lie to her to get her into bed with you.

What do you find disgusting about onlyfans links in women's bios, then? I'm trying to understand why someone who is fine with porn would find an onlyfans link in a woman's bio "disgusting" and consider women on Onlyfans to be like subhuman "sex robots." The only real difference I can see is that with Onlyfans, the woman is clearly in control of what she films, photographs, and shares.

I looked her up over a week ago when we were having this conversation. The author is a health and beauty writer, and a former editor of Cosmopolitan magazine. Do you really think Cosmo and tabloids like the Daily Mail are bastions of modern-day feminist thought? But even if she were a "respected prominent feminist writer," this opinion piece does nothing to prove that feminists somehow derailed male birth control efforts. It's happening in this thread. People are scolding OP, telling her she's going to be a miserable lovely cat lady and die alone. Or that she's contributing to the fall of civilization or whatever. It's absurd.

Aren’t you basically contributing to ensuring that Idiocracy becomes real? I don't see how that's my problem. If you want someone to blame, blame politicians and religious leaders who ban sex ed, push abstinence-only, who make birth control, emergency contraception, and abortions more difficult to access, who oppose universal healthcare and even the Affordable Care Act, who don't want to give women paid maternity leave like most civilized countries do, etc etc etc.

The maternal mortality rate in the US is double that of other developed nations. Abortion bans and restrictions make it worse. It was a problem even before Roe got overturned. Where I live, abortion is legal, but there is a law that says you must wait 24 hours for an abortion. This law applies even if your fetus is dead inside of you. So your fetus is pronounced dead and you are sent home to wait, risking infection and complications, before you can get the medical treatment you need. Because of …

I'm not on dating apps, but plenty of my friends have screenshots of hateful messages they've gotten from guys. Some guys seem to get triggered if they think they're being ignored (even if she was just busy working or sleeping and that's why she didn't reply right away). And they lash out.

What is the overriding thought when you see an attractive man? "Oh, that guy is hot. Anyway, where was I..." I do not want to "obtain" a man upon seeing him, and I've never thought, "Wow, that guy sure looks hot to me because he seems successful!" UPS delivery guys can be hot. Baristas can be hot. Bartenders can be hot. Flight attendants can be hot. I swear 95% of this sub is men talking to other men about what they think women want. Or men talking to women and telling women what women want. I don't think you're wrong, OP, I just think a statement like "Nobody wants to marry a chronically broke or mentally unstable hot guy" is so obvious that I'm surprised it needs to be stated. And a lot of the comments are hilarious.

Honestly a LOT of guys who think they're too ugly, too short, too wrong-bonestructured or whatever are totally normal looking or even attractive, but they've convinced themselves they're hideous and doomed to inceldom for life. There's some kind of fatalistic body dysmorphia going on. Their problem with women isn't their height or bone structure, it's their misogyny, refusal to see women as entirely human, bad attitude, and victim complex. I was married to a guy who was addicted to porn and video games, who yelled at me, hit my cat, threw things, and forced me to hurt myself as "punishment" for making "mistakes." When did “average” no longer cut it? This guy was way below average. He was abusive. It is more much more stable than non-exclusivity. Plus, with work, school, chores, and everything else, I already would like more quality time with my partner. If we were both devoting time and energy to having sex or relationships with other people, it would mean even less given to our relationship, and I don't want that. I know you said you're not asking "why not polyamory" but my poly pals have problems and seeing them struggle does make a strong argument for exclusivity as the better option.

That's a tabloid opinion piece in the Daily Mail from 13 years ago that doesn't say anything about feminists "squashing" male birth control. The author is not a "prominent feminist" and it doesn't mention anything about a panel(??) being made up of feminists.
/r/MensRights16/02/23 12:52 PM

So... no source for the "feminists squashed the last male birth control drug" claim? Carol Tobias is not a feminist. There's nothing feminist about the Daily Mail opinion piece from 2010, either. And opinion pieces in tabloid newspapers don't stop drug trials.
/r/MensRights15/02/23 07:24 PM

Do you have a source for that other than the opinion piece from the Daily Mail? Women being vocally opposed to something is not sufficient to stop it from happening - see Roe v. Wade getting overturned last summer. As far as I know, most male birth control studies have been halted due to safety/side effect concerns.

There was a post the other day claiming that a trans woman feminist academic named R.W. Connell wanted to castrate all men in order to achieve feminist goals. I read some of her book, and of course that's not at all what she was saying. She advocated for an expansion in society's notions about what the male body can do and what it is for (because currently, it's often only seen as a tool for war, violence, dominance, and power). She suggested that men could have an increased role in the very emb…

What we see in her statement is the idea men are here to provide for women. It's interesting that you see that, because it's not at all what she said. She talks about an equal partnership, someone who values fairness, someone who wants to do their share in the home. This book was primarily a guide to help women be successful at work. It's about the opposite of being provided for by a man.

You said you went to check the original source. Where did you come across the quotes in the first place? What agenda were they possibly trying to push with these quotes? You de-gender a body by removing the gender-based societal restrictions and expectations on what a person can and should do with their body. Our culture often sees men's bodies as both violent and expendable, and that is messed up. Just as a relatively mundane example, my husband is a nurse, but people constantly assume he's a d…

Okay. I wish you the best of luck in your crusade to hold Sigmund Freud accountable for his language and theories about "castration anxiety." It's a very common transphobic belief that trans women are fetishists. You assumed that a trans woman was a fetishist rather than assuming the much more likely scenario - she's referencing Freud. You could ask yourself why you made such an assumption about a trans woman. "Using an act of sexual violence as a method of trying to talk about the psychological experiences of others" was pioneered and popularized by Freud, not this obscure author.

She mentions "castration" on a total of four pages of the 324 page book Masculinities, and it's always in the context of "castration anxiety," which is a Freudian term. The author is a trans woman, as OP stated in the title of the post.

A simpler explanation would be that she talks about castration a lot because Freud talked about castration a whole lot, and she's referring to Freud, as she said in the text. It's a common transphobic belief that all trans women are fetishists.

Of course defenders of the patriarchy fear that men will be turned into women. You hear it all the time in "Culture War" discourse. "They want to feminize men! It's a war on masculinity! Where have all the manly men gone? They want to trans your kids!" And you're doing it here, too. Saying, "Look, this feminist trans woman wants to chop off your balls!" 1.) Most trans people (and most people generally) have never heard of this person. 2.) She is not "advocating for mass castration." OP either misread or disingenuously misrepresented this text, which is admittedly hard to understand because it's written for academics. She isn't saying "men must be castrated to achieve equality." She's not "advocating for mass castration." She's saying that male hegemony is so engrained in our culture that when people start to critique male hegemony, some men react by seeing it as a threat to their manhood. They feel the Freudian "fear of castration" and fear that this critiquing means someone wants to turn men into women.
