Oh that's good, it sounds like the worry that you're being used for free drinks is unfounded. Good luck out there

I feel like maybe you are expecting too much too soon? It takes a while to build up any sort of relationship with anyone. Older people tend to be more extroverted because they've figured this out so they're more motivated to make the first move. If you have approached someone then they don't have an obligation to be interested in you - that's on you to sort out

Look mate you're either going to have to explicitly tell them it's a date or implicitly show them it's a date by doing stereotypical/traditional date things like paying for their drinks. What's going on at the moment is you're making friends and then trying to kiss them.
/r/seduction12/08/21 12:39 AM

Yeah so there's probably some miscommunication going on. Especially if you're not paying for their drinks too, why would they think it's a date?

Are you actually explicitly asking them out on dates?

So obviously with coronavirus I haven't been making plans with people so much this year and a couple days ago I tried having some cute fun plans with a friend and they literally like, spent so much time dicking me about. So we hung out for two hours but I probably spent an additional 6 hours before that struggling to concentrate on anything else because we were back and forth on twitter messenger because they couldn't decide whether we were sticking to the plan or not. It just produced so much m…

No that's not a non-issue at all. It almost feels like a cross between negging and gaslighting? Either way it's public humiliation, he's saying you want him to love you more than he does. Maybe he just misjudged the joke but I'd call him out on it once only and if he did it again I'd dump him. I would probably just put in the group chat something like "I don't get it, is it a joke?" because if they're really your friends they would apologise for joining in but obviously this is all very contextu…

Ugh yeah I'm struggling with this type of thing too re-emerging from COVID quarantine (the situation generally is still serious but my situation has changed). Do you think if you could have trusted the organiser you wouldn't have left half way through? Creeps create environments that other creeps benefit from

Absolutely cannot shake this predator out my life (work colleague). Think I need to re-read up on how to keep boundaries in place and focus on this problem a bit more because it's not going away on its own

It's been honestly bizarre and disappointing to watch this unfold on FDS tbh. I think people have conflated a few different issues and that's how they've made a jump to worrying this sub is getting banned.

Maybe we need a post where we all compile examples of jealousy because it can be super varied and a lot of us might be blind to it. Will log in on my laptop and sort something out if no one's done it yet or wants to do it instead

Sometimes you have to deal with it in a really roundabout way. What else have you got going on in your life that you need to deal with? Tackle that instead. Distraction and the feeling of 'progress' in your life will begin to help you move on and make it feel like the crush is in the past

You should message them you don't want to speak any more and then block, because if they start stalking or harassing you this is the first key bit of evidence you need

Finally got to end of my tether with my shitty male neighbour who's always stomping my boundaries. Bit of an argument with him this evening when he wouldn't take no for an answer and I'm emailing our landlord tomorrow to escalate things. Feeling angry and stressed but that's a good thing, it means I'm not repressing it like I normally would

Even before you're a mother! My ex's family couldn't understand why my own family was a priority over them, didn't appreciate the effort I did make with them, and expected me to give up my lucrative and very rewarding career to go work in, and I shit you not, their local tesco in a part of the world that is intolerant to my religion. The early warning signs for this is if they're constantly posting things on your facebook wall when you've barely even met them, and if they seem to reduce you down…

And if he does have a good job, is that because he worked for it, or because he fell into it? Eg through family connections, privilege (class, male and/or other), getting lucky, or someone else doing the work for him to get him there (eg an ex spouse). I've fallen for this a few times now. Be wary when you don't know how industries work because you're young or you don't work in them - a good example is that it can be really easy to be impressed by someone in their early 20s who is the manager at…

Not patronising in the slightest! It's always awful and to give myself extra credit for doing even the bare basics today, the timing to cut them off was atrocious (but it had to be done). They'd had enough chances and the last couple months alone will be traumatizing me for years. They were escalating their behaviour and probably assumed I wouldn't walk away because it would seem like such a callous thing to do in the wider situation, but I knew the truth which is that I deserve better.

Had to cut off a beloved but also extremely abusive family member. I'm in the pits if depression over it. Trying to remind myself that this is like a break up but worse so I don't have to be functioning correctly at the moment. I've gotten dressed today, washed, brushed my teeth, moisturised, answered an email, had some hot drinks. Might even make the bed. I'm going to be okay

Yep I now have a rule that I don't date men who are 'ahead' of me in these types of structures. Eg if I was a shop assistant I wouldn't date a shop manager, if I was an undergrad I wouldn't date a post-grad student. If I was a freelancer I wouldn't date someone getting the customers I dream about. If I just moved into a small town I wouldn't date someone whose been living there for decades. For me, with my vulnerabilities, it just doesn't work. And you know what? A lot of people think relationsh…

Pffft I remember the excuses from my ex. His chaotic work schedule always fucked me over once he'd made plans with me. The same with every ex. Funny because mine's demanding and all over the place but I never let it get in the way the way these types do? These people don't just want to fuck you, they are absolute drains. I think it's because when you do it they way you describe, if they do harass you it's easier to get quick action from the police/courts. Predators know this. Okay so, total of 4 today. Next door neighbour in an r/bola worthy saga. Long story short pretending to help as a trojan horse to taking control of my space. People cling on to the idea of army changing people because we see it in the media all the time. The reverse of your story is that when it came out what my ex did to me, everyone said it was atrocious and that the army "changed him". Except I knew from what he'd told me about his life before (at length) that he acted the same then. People were just trying to absolve themselves of responsibility for setting me up with him and this trope that everyone in the army has a complete personality change …

I mean sometimes yeah but often no, it depends on the context. I've seen more of this type of comment on FDS recently with people picking apart other commenters' language, particular the use of specific words like this which aren't actually offensive, and it's making me really uncomfortable. Just because something would maybe sound odd in your region, it doesn't mean the rest of the world are on the same page. Yeah this is one bit of FDS I don't subscribe to tbh. Marriage is more permanent than a tenancy. That said, even if I don't agree with the specifics I do think the general point that often people move in with one another for the wrong reasons and end up in situation ships is correct. It took my ex 18 months of us living together before he assaulted me, because that's when he mistakenly calculated that he had me trapped. He had tried to rush me into marriage just before we moved into together. Th…

Duolingo, pinterest, depop to name a few... I'm shifting away from social networking (mainly to make myself less available to contact) but I deserve the dumb downtime on my phone and for now these types of apps are the best balance. I like duolingo because it gamifies learning a skill I can use in real life, hopefully I'll find more like that. Depop and Pinterest don't have the usual stress social networking brings because they're not dominated by men... yet.

Yes I think you are, but I can see how! Basically if you're with someone who's neglecting you, instead of fighting for their attention, find someone else who is worth your time and will give you the attention you deserve. It's worded as a joke, the joke being that if they were acting like they didn't want to be around you then they can't be upset when you decide not to be around them. However as most of us have experienced, when a man acts like that, he's doing it as a power play, to erode your …

Pffft I went in another female sub thinking they were all happy and supportive like this one and some of the others I've been in... I got a few clearly trolling gaslight-y comments and I was like, okay I can just ignore that. But then it bothered me a bit? So I did a dive on the profiles of the people who'd been baiting me into an argument and one's not long lost her job, another spends a lot of time talking down to people in the sub, one was a fairly new account that screamed 'man' and I don't …

Piggy backing on this, it's always worth thinking do you want to move to be with your man or is it because you want out of where you're living at the moment? So often we repress what we want and we get taught we can only chase your desire under the guise of catering to a man

Im sure you know already but it's worth repeating: that's their end game. They want you to think it's easier to do it yourself so they don't have to. They're punishing you for what they see as bad behaviour

FDS has honestly changed my life. The mindset shift from "I think I can tolerate this" to "Do I want this" has been liberating. I have better friendships, better clothes, my career is so much easier, I can just let go of things now!

Obviously you now blocked him (good!!!!) and you got some great comments but one thing I want to add that no one else mentioned is that he was obsessed with status and you're from a wayyyy higher status family than him. He was hoping to absorb your 'status'. I hate the class system etc but unfortunately dating as a woman you have to be mindful of a lot like how you have to be mindful of age differences.

Whose work? What do you mean she would have found out through Facebook? Did yous post a status or something? Not that those questions really matter. fwiw I think your spidey senses are correct - he's being a dick. You've just relocated with him and we're in the middle of a global crisis so he thinks you're more dependent on him now and he's chosen to start showing his true colours, because he thinks you will struggle to leave. You're probably right, I picked it up early on when I joined but maybe that was because I just happened to see a post on it or something ETA: just rereading my comment about a day after I posted it. Yep I very briefly entertained some idiot a few months ago and it was obvious he saw my luxury items, did the math and started mapping what he was going to do with my money. Every time I saw him I'd get some comment like "that sounds expensive" "this feels expensive". My ex before him had absolutely washed my savings out so I knew exactly what to look out for. The kicker? I'm not even rich, I grew up dirt poor which is how I know poor quality throwaway items are a financial blackhole

2020 has been the year of me worming out all the drains from my life and I just spotted another one. This one guy I'm 'friends' with seems to use me as an audience rather than an actual friend. Hm. So you need to be able to articulate it and show a pattern. Start a log, every time it happens write down the date, time and what happened. If you're unsure what to specifically describe you might have to go into a lot of detail about the situation/interaction, eg who said/did what and how you felt. Don't get hung up on labelling behaviour at the moment if it is causing a mental block. Over time you will be able to establish a pattern and also find it easier to articulate what's up - this wi…

These all sound obvious out of context but I'm not sure they were at the time. Some of them left a lingering feeling of 'bad' which is how I remember them. That's the trick to a good neg, it slips into the conversation under the radar. Also FDS has taught me to listen to my gut more so they're easier to spot now "are you going to spend your whole life in education" when I was doing a post-grad course - you're selfish, you can't get a job, you make bad decisions "that doesn't sound like depressio…

A lot of the time yes but usually I'm vague as possible about it and refuse to explain further. To me this is a natural extension of enforcing boundaries with men in general. Men in the street, in bars, waiting rooms etc back off more quickly if they're met with a loud and forceful "I'm not interested in talking to you" "You should talk to someone else about that" "I've not come here to be social" rather than just awkwardly ignoring them. I mean, you could leave it a few days and try and start a fresh conversation with her. In this conversation, show you're interested in her as a person but not that you expect her drive the conversation, because from the information you've got she's not up for that. So you'd be looking to open with something like: ask how she is and some quip about how your day's going as a tour guide. Don't be disheartened if it doesn't work and/or you get ignored because you've dug yourself into a wee bit of a …

You're expecting her to make the effort after she's said she's not 100% sold on exchanging numbers and you established you were

It doesn't sound like it's her mates that ruined it for you then does it? You weren't 'on' that night, that's on you. I get it, it sucks and makes you feel helpless but you have to accept that's no one else's responsibility but your own

It's bollocks mate

Well, tell us more about when you met her friends

-refers to me too era as stupid -refers to women as girls -focusing on men whose lives have been ruined and not a care for all the women hmm mm mm mm. hmmmm

I think it's more that if someone has tattoos, it suggests they're not scared of commitment and probably are quite confident and sure of themselves.

A bloke's not got a chance to act like a creep if the woman's not said no
/r/seduction27/07/18 10:44 AM

Yeah it's almost as if women also have preferences and might be more interested in a man they find attractive!
/r/seduction26/07/18 08:45 PM

ok first of all, unless you're like actually a child they're women not girls. It's not picking holes in your grammar for the sake of it, but when you call women girls it suggests you're immature or you think women are immature you seem to place a lot of self worth in whether women find you attractive... what defines you as a person outside of that? Because that's ultimately what will get them interested

Both of those are good reasons why you might not get a number, but it doesn't mean it's a shit test. When you're a woman, giving out any information to a man who approached you is a dangerous game - you guys are risking rejection, but women are risking harassment and violence.

I'm a woman lmao

Ummmmm hate to break it to you but if a woman can't/won't give you her number, that's not a "shit test". For whatever reason, she does not want to give you her number. Learn to live with it

She's confident enough to tell you to back off and take things at her own pace, why you think she's got low self esteem?

The internal logic of this comment is astounding. You need therapy mate

25 - call them women, not females you absolute cockwomble
/r/seduction16/07/18 10:25 PM

Standing right in front of them sounds like a good way to get pepper sprayed
/r/seduction15/07/18 06:23 AM

Why? She's not actually done anything wrong. Word gets around about men who can't handle rejection
/r/seduction14/07/18 12:19 AM
2

Hold on, so she says 'no' when you try and push things further and you respond by... trying again? And then when someone outright rejects you react like that? Dude your problem is probably that word's probably gotten around you're an asshole
/r/seduction12/07/18 09:33 AM

Why can you only see each other once a week? If she's busy she's not going to be wanting to text constantly either

Cautious is best in a gym. Act like you're going to get something.

No woman is going to see you as potential boyfriend material if you accuse women of friendzoning you my dude. If you don't have female friends it's a massive tell that you're not emotionally mature and will probably be super clingy in a relationship. Unless you're like, 14 years old, it's really obvious to women and those around her and you when you're just waiting for her relationship to go to shit before making a move
/r/seduction11/07/18 07:34 PM

Dunno how women couldn't be attracted to you with that wonderful personality you got going on there mate
/r/seduction11/07/18 04:18 PM
2

You have to accept that women aren't usually waiting for random men to walk up to them as they go about their day to day lives and what you see as giving them time and respect is asking them for THEIR time and attention. You aren't actually owed that. If you truly respected them you wouldn't get upset when they reject you
/r/seduction05/07/18 11:18 AM
13

Er, she just wants to continue to be mates with you
/r/seduction04/07/18 11:34 PM

comebacks? What like you're arguing with someone you've just met? Dude chill

Women do not catch public transport to meet men
/r/seduction10/06/18 11:15 AM

Leave them alone mate, they're not interested
/r/seduction04/06/18 06:04 AM

Can't give someone solutions if they're not giving away enough information to work with unfortunately
/r/seduction29/05/18 08:15 PM

Well, women aren't vending machines you put 'effort' coins into and get sex or a relationship out of. Maybe you're coming across as a bit desperate? There's so many unknowns here.
/r/seduction29/05/18 08:27 AM

Try calling them women rather than girls for a start mate
/r/seduction28/05/18 04:05 PM

This is awful advice!! Can't say I'm impressed when lads I don't know think I'll act like their therapist/life coach (3) or if I figured out they didn't actually need any advice and were just wasting my time / being a yes man (4) but mainly demanding a hug (and then criticising it!) would ring massive alarm bells for me and most women! I would be telling all my female friends you were a fucking creep and warning them away from you in the future. Jfc man

It's almost as if women don't have one hive mind and different women want different things from life! Crazy!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
