Usually rooms in a private home occupied by other renters, or an apartment renter looking for a roommate. The only ones that are determined by the landlord are ones that have an addition attached to their home they are looking to rent out. I understand why I see this, for example, females may prefer having female roommates because they think men are crazy, partying, sexual predators or something, but it doesn't excuse it. I've been looking for an apartment for over a month in my city. A large number of good looking places are "female only" or "female preferred". It really upsets me, and it's to much work to prove that I'm being discriminated against for being male.
