44	She splashed hot water on the clerks face while the cop was right behind her. She escalated the situation. She proved to be a physical threat to the people around her. After she made the situation violent, it was better for the police to ensure the safety of everyone around her. If she's willing to throw hot water into someone's face over something most likely very mild, what else is she willing to do? I suppose that they could have tackled her, but that probably would have posed as much of a physical threat.
