Sure. But sometimes they're not even aware of the beat. Then someone needs to show them how to take the earplugs out. Or if it's serious, you have to snatch the earplugs from their ears. I guess it's called compassion.

It's not that they're autistic, necessarily. It's more like they're in a room where music's playing, but they have earplugs in their ears. They say that they can hear the music, but they can't even hear how silly that sounds.

Why would you wish to pin the blame on media? I don't wish to - bad wording on my part. It was more an attempt to describe the role the media plays in perpetuating it. But, as you said, it's perpetuation needs a basis - first the egg, then the chicken. Fair enough. However, that leads to the next question: why? Why should women seek to change their opinions, regardless of what they are? Isn't that mind control? I guess it is. Upon thinking about it, you're right - they shouldn't be forced to cha…

You can contest it all you like. This thread's discussion has established both the prevalent misandry and woman worship of contemporary culture. Egalitarianism as misogyny is a direct implication of those features. Agree to disagree. Again, it's not a black-and-white situation. The implication was that mass media was somehow causative of it. That is untrue. Mass media can't exploit what isn't already there. Upon deeper reflection, I've realized that you're right - mass media isn't explicity to b…

We all know that bloopers like to pull the Misogynist card at any instance. We are known throughout all of Reddit as "the woman hating subreddit". We can't make a post or talk theory without some woman crying "misogyny". AWALT? Misogyny. Dare to mention Branch Swinging? Misogyny. Women need to be lead? Misogyny. It's misogyny because you're making decisions for women and taking agency away from them because you don't want to be vulnerable, and telling them what they as a gender really want. How …

It is contrary to male nature to claim victim status. Maybe, maybe not. Though both misogyny and misandry occur in roughly equal proportions, in terms of usage, misogyny is far more prevalent as a word. True. It is considered misogynistic these days to be egalitarian. Which is the original point of this discussion. I still contest this. It's considered misogynistic when women are grouped as being completely vile, incapable of critical thought, or when people perpetuate ideas that take agency awa…

So, why would men have any incentive to "understand" this? They see that women by and large profit from their misfortune, and showing hatred of men is successful commercial strategy. That's why I've been saying this whole thing is insidious! That said, just because women benefit, that doesn't mean men should do the exact same thing that feminism has accused men of in response. Why not take a look at who's perpetuating these tropes, and call out misandrist behavior in individual women and men, in…

Men don't go listen to their feelings to figure things out. They listen to their logic first. They may check what their feelings are saying, or maybe not. Women listen to their feelings first, then they may check it with logic(rationality). Maybe. Doesn't mean men's way is superior to women's, and it doesn't prove men are more logical than women, innately. If career was an issue then science women would have their emotions in check as much as science men no? No one says to women to suppress thei…

It's a hard sell. There's no question. But if they're aware that the mass media/3wfem are perpetuating these views, they can learn to not turn to more baseless misogyny to counteract the ramping up of misandry. And they'll realize women may appear to be worshiped in the media, but they're just getting profited off of due to fortunate happenstance, and that their opinions reflect a bastardization of equal standing between the sexes. Unfortunately, this facade of woman-worship does seem to benefit…

It's both different wiring making men go to logic and women go to emotion more readily, and a different set of hormones. This isn't quite accurate, at least not innately. Men are as emotional as women, but men tend to bottle their emotions up due to societal reinforcement. Women seem more emotional because they're allowed to be, although hormonal flux can contribute too. They're also capable of being as logical as men, but are historically not allowed to pursue professions geared towards using l…

You're right. It doesn't make a difference to them. For me, it's a matter of keeping that piece of stark black-and-white statement "woman are worshiped" from coloring lurkers' perceptions. If put into context, hopefully they'll see the subtle effects of insidious third-wave feminism and subtle misandry, for what they are, and not be swayed into further needless misogyny.

That difference of our base brains is not explained by MBTI, and is what makes men and women fundamentally different. If brain structure is as varied as the webmd article suggests, this could mean that innate 'thinking style' may not be as binary as you think. This doesn't preclude the evidence for men's and women's brains being wired slightly differently. However, I believe this wiring does not fundamentally effect 'thinking style', but rather distribution of sexual chemicals and hormones, whic…

The article is saying that the average brain is a composite of masculine and feminine parts, with the extremes being single sex across all parts. So we could make a presumption that, there may be many women who think in TRP's so-called male way of thinking ('logical'), and vice-verse. MBTI's are nice, but simply a tool. Nothing to rest on, really.

but the difference in how men and women think and the result of the difference can't be. Here's something of interest in terms of differences/similarities in men's brains vs. women's brains. http://www.webmd.com/brain/features/how-male-female-brains-differ Unfortunately, I'm not privy to the study breakdown, but maybe something of interest that could shed light on thinking differences.

Yeah, he's coming from an angle of non-poverty. Also, I've heard there's a subtle bias against males who are virgins passed the average age of loss of virginity. It raises questions, because the majority of guys somehow get it during this time, why didn't these guys? That question isn't even the issue: it's the reasons people fabricate in response to that question. Is he autistic? Does he have severe anxiety? Is he secretly a serial killer? Hates people? It's one thing to not want to date them. It's another thing to hate on them because nice guys are treated the same way by women/bloopers/ppders. I mean, what exactly is that accomplishing? Maybe they have a problem with the second one. If one wants to battle beta-bashing, you don't do it by bashing single moms and "sluts". If bloopers and others are shaming TRPers for making the choice of not wanting to date single moms, then it's just silly if the reasons are sound. The sluts one seems variable…

Maybe people just enjoy talking with others and bonding with others similar to themselves. Competition is not always subject to machiavellianism nor to desiring an increase in social status. Some people are status-seeking, sure. Some subcultures are geared towards it, sure. But if anything, social game seems to be more a facet of modern American culture because it drives consumerist tendencies. It still doesn't prove women are machiavellian innately, or that women have a specific form of machiav…

Because people with rp understanding can manipulate women then there is evidence for rp being true. Sure, anecdotal evidence showing that you can manipulate some women. Then using AWALT, you can extrapolate that all women can be manipulated in the same RP way. That doesn't prove RP, nor RP understanding, is true as a whole. Why do you think women use covert communication is exactly? Women speak this way because it is inherently manipulative and Machiavellian, it protects their image, plays on pe…

Probably a status thing, because they're relatively uncommon. And America likes status. I think the current reality is women want men taller than them, and would prefer tall men, but don't want men shorter than them. Outliers exist, of course.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/16 02:03 PM

But we're not talking about RP being used to manipulate people into favorable circumstances. Yes, people can be manipulated - any one can, even RPers. This clinging to manipulation tactics strikes me as a sort of cowardice, but it is what it is. We were talking about women being machiavellian by nature as a part of AWALT/female nature. There's no proof that women are machiavellian by nature, let alone that women have a machiavellianism specific to them (dissocation, etc.) While wikipedia should …

There's no fear of labels. Generalizations are fine if they're true. Its human nature. Cop-out. Humans can tune down unfounded generalizations if they're aware of them. It's a bit tricky, but it's just habit energy, after all. That's generally true. Exposure therapy is useful for the incels who are being held back not because of looks necessarily but because of social anxiety and depression. While my comment was a brush-stroke, incels are not necessarily all preempted by looks, but sometimes just psychological barriers. In some cases, in tandem. It's a safe assumption that the less philosophically-inclined incels who don't have social anxiety could benefit from the belief-disputing, at the very least.

Okay, I gave this mr.illimitable a cursory read. This all sounds like pseudo-sociological fluff: no biological evidence, no statistical evidence, no citations. Purely ideological pandering. Plus, all the stuff mr.illimit. mentions can just as easily be applied to men: blending lies with reality, dissociating, mental gymnastics, etc. Is there proof that women have this magical ability to dissociate endlessly that men don't have? Is this observed in all groups of women? Across all cultures, class,…

Yes it's like an instinct. It drives attraction, the manifestation is visible in deadbedrooms where logically she should be attracted to the guy, often she may even wish to be attracted, but he does not meet her hypergamy instincts, and so is not attracted. How does RP/TRP knows it's an instinct? Do you understand Machiavellianism I know what Machiavellianism is. As a phenomenon, the effects are identical. The issue with the "women are worshiped" trope is that it oversimplifies what's actually happening. It's a black-and-white piece of rhetoric, when the reality isn't black and white, at all. It seems like we're not going to see eye-to-eye, here. What else would you call it? That isn't worship. It's profiteering and riding off the coattails of insidious third wave feminism's pro-women/anti-man stance, giving the illusion of worship. Women are not worship…

A case can be made for hypergamy, as it has historical precedence. But I don't think it's innate to women. Every other one of those seems tenuous as innate or specific to women (no proof) but it can be observed in both men and women.

Women do this even outside of romance. There must be some kind of deep seeded problem with women that makes them want to do this shit. Maybe it's cultural, specific to this particular time of mass media and third wave feminist influence. Has this kind of behavior been consistently observed throughout history, or in other cultures besides America/the West?

Women do suppress some of their AWALT aspects, especially ones worthy of an LTR. What do you think those happen to be? Or rather, what does RP think those are?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/16 06:07 PM

Doesn't RP/TRP pronounce AWALT as women's nature? For, anything women do outside the RP/TRP script of what constituents female nature, or AWALT, means women are hamstering, are unaware or are denying their female nature.

While misogyny among males (I am a bit of a misogynist in personal matters) is well known and its workplace effects are guarded against, the existence of widespread misandry among women is denied. Yes, denial of subtle misandry. It's disconcerting to hear you operate with misogyny in your dealings; you strike me as quite egalitarian in your articulations. Well, thanks for admitting that most women are at least a bit misandrist. It probably took courage to admit that. I can respect that. Sure. Both genders are like that, though. Many men are subtly misogynistic as well, it's nothing new. Plus, systemic misogyny is still a thing; it's not a complete artifact. What you call manipulation, I call catering to their deep biases. Can you think of a scenario where women would be happy with society and not bitch and want more? This is a tricky question, because both genders are ultimately like this. Humans get dissatisfied, at least in the western world. Drugs are needed to achieve the final steps of mental maturity and drug free people haven't made the same revelations yet. I don't buy that. Sounds like seeing what you want to see. It is fair comment. However, this isn't a place for idealism. Well, maybe not. What you describe as manipulation is simply a commercial recognition of women's economic clout. It's manipulation when commercials emphasize a divide between men and women in an era when feminist issues are still big and generating heat and fury. I mean, advertisers always employ some soft manipulation techniques (not subliminal), so it's not completely out of left field. As to the mainstream feminists, even they parr…

The issue is not that something never works, but that something works in some cases, under certain circumstances, with factors like luck at play. But the TRPers really fall through the cracks when they start with the AWALTs, women are children and/ore are to be treated like children, etc. Since it worked for them, on some women they were successful with, in the environment they were in, therefore, it works on ALL or most women, regardless of factors, natural predispositions, etc. The sexual stra…

Men typically hate drama, it's usually stupid or a waste of time and energy. It really is a woman need, and maybe an effeminate man need. I think we men claim to not enjoy the dramatic stuff women are usually interested in, but we enjoy our own kinds of drama. Indignation is inherently emotionally exciting and women love to feel stronger emotions whether positive or negative. Case in point is media for women, reality TV and talk shows that focus on drama, as well as look at who mostly watch dram…

The drama queens are obvious with their need for indignation, but all women have this need. They scratch this itch from somewhere, guaranteed. I don't think they seek indignation as some sort of innate feature specific to women. You can make an argument that humans are novelty-seeking and want entertainment during peaceful times, but indignation strikes me more a personal thing, but also heavily influenced by the surrounding culture. But yeah, PPD is pretty dramatic.

Well, if your alpha = very impulsive, then... I'd say guys that come from two-parent households would be less inclined to act alpha, as you conceive, at least up to their early teenage years. But in high school/college, guys have gone through puberty, are being pumped with T(estosterone), and their impulsiveness is fueled by their friend groups plus this new accumulation of T. Misandry can be very subtle. Just count the number of times statements are made by women on TV and the net, which if the genders were switched, would be a career ender for men. Imagine a men's TV talk show (generally not a male preference) where four men sit down and make patronizing comments about women. Compare it to the View, for instance. Look at news reporting. Men should have empathy for women if the situation calls for it. If we make the argument that men are marginalized, we/they should question the institutions allowing this marginalization, not penalize women by withholding empathy from them if they need it. It's not women's fault -- if anything, it's a collective fault of all people mixed with other complex factors -- if male marginalization is rampant. That said, having empathy for a woman is not white-knighting/sjwing if it's genuine.

Just look at the advertising for starters. Yeah, advertising seems obsequious in that they're propping women up for an underlying motive. This hurts both men and women, strangely enough. I suppose that the "smart woman/dumb man trope" reinforces that perception of society being more servile to women, whether intended or not. One could also make a counterargument for "heroic male/damsel in distress" as the reversal of that, although that isn't as prevalent a trope nowadays, at least not in ads. M…

The misogyny stems from the inequality of men and women. How are you defining "inequality"? You don't want it to be true but see the grain of truth. Maybe I sometimes feel that way. Me wanting something to not be true, however, doesn't mean it actually isn't true. But for example, men are usually physically stronger than women. This is true, normally. But then we come to women are mentally weaker (and I've heard less intelligent and more emotional too), and men are more rational. But where's the…

TRP hides behind subtle forms of misogyny, usually in the form of condescension. It's not overt "TRP hates women RAW RAW" kind of misogyny, normally. It's more like "Women are to be treated like children because they're physically and mentally weaker than men", "Women are more emotional, men are more rational", etc. It's insidious stuff because these generalizations may have a grain of truth, but not the whole truth, yet they're passed off as truth by TRP.

The society has become unbelievably obsequious to women. How so? Anything that is even remotely realistic is seen as misogynistic. We'd have to establish what is being posited about women is realistic first.

Better, meaning, "women are for fucking" type of stuff? Black-and-white thinking. My comment was tongue-in-cheek. I'm not a blooper, and I don't make fun of social retards. I make of fun of self-congratulating, inflexible ideologies like TRP and it's adulating adherents.

TRP is misandrogynist.

Ah, the Terp-a-lerpers are wailing on social retards. Oh das irony of all ironies.

Not a pill. Some women are insecure dumbasses. But some TRPers are lying, some TRPers are delusional, some are bedazzled by selection bias, some TRPers are 'successful'. In other words, the TRP's practitioner base is like a lot of other ideological trends and fads, especially of the self-help kind -- mostly unsuccessful and full of disenfranchised bitterness and strange conflicted relationships with imagined boogiemen (e.g Chad)

Because TRP makes promises that sound really good, really edgy, and it's being eaten up by (in general) desperate, horny men who are on occasion closet misogynists. And because a couple of guys have had sporadic success utilizing TRP ideology, they convince themselves of it's 'efficacy'. And because there seemingly articulate, 'sane-sounding' users of the TRP ideology, they believe this backs up the idea that TRP is something to be taken seriously. TRP may have some 'truthful' bits - I don't wha…

It's durrrlicious, broseph. It's wordplay. But yes, I'll leave the Terp-a-lerpers to their echo chamber of self-congratulation and other tomfooleries. Toodles.

Evidence won't convince anyone of anything if they believe strongly enough in their own convictions -- to the point of delusion, maybe. They'll just say "not evidence", and go about their day. And the TRPers are about as hard-headed a bunch as they come (yes, not ALL, but many).

That'd be pointless. People (in the pillsphere) generally respond to mocking rather than well-reasoned arguments. Look how many well-reasoned posts all over reddit get left to the dust, and yet small, pointed comments like mine get much more reaction. They like the soundbites, and mostly skim through the reasoned arguments with glazed eyes and yawns. Maybe a bit of shock treatment leading to self-reflection would work better.

Haha, "recovering from the blue pill". You TRPers take yourselves so seriously. What a joke -- ALL these pills are made up! Red, blue, purple, black, etc. Hamstering, indeed.

Possibly his facial structure is off: lack of symmetry, lack of facial feature proportion, etc. Less to work with, and maximizing what he has isn't worth it. To himself anyways.

Yeah, black-and-white thinking, basically. RPers are stuck in an echo chamber. When will they stop listening to the echoes?

I've noticed girls check me out, too, and felt the same way. Even preening, sometimes. It's crazy stuff. And I've also experienced girls approaching me as well, so maybe we don't look so bad after all. Maybe not studs, but decent, anyways.

Guys are groomed to be pursuers, and so (continued) success hinges on pursuing. Guys posting profiles puts ladies into the position of having to initiate directly, which is not the norm, even if it's more common in younger generations now. And since ladies are used to being pursued by guys, they can choose from the pursuers. They don't need to initiate unless something really catches their eye. Therefore, many guys go unnoticed. That, and the internet grants a strong-sense of non-committal attit…

A hooker can turn you away if she desires. A robot can't, unless it stops functioning. In other words, it's easier to get it on with a robot.

There are plenty of interesting women out there. Look elsewhere from you're usual haunts and you might be surprised. This applies to people in general, too. Everyone has a story.

No, incels are not a proof of "universal attraction of alpha men". Incels are as they are because of a variety of factors, normally of the socially-disconnected kind. Their existence only proves that not everyone is dealt a "fair" hand at life. As for other men, subcultures/political views/hobbies/etc. act as a bonding agent between them and girls, so this sidesteps the notion of needing to be an "alpha" to mate. The bonding over shared beliefs/opinions becomes a part of the attraction. The men …
