No problem man. Figured you had missed it. I had to read it twice.

Like any movement breaking into the mainstream, most folks don't know much about MRM. As such, many will use this forum to educate themselves. Sadly, and as /u/thrway_1000 stated, there are plenty of individuals and groups who object to the social changes suggested here, and take the opportunity to damage the movement for that individual anonymously.

There are plenty out there, they are mostly feminist trained / white knites.

WTF is this shit? Here's a fun game. I need someone to reformat this and switch "men" with "women" and "male" with "female." Example - "Every man needs a 'gaggle' of women." I will then post it to facebook as an original post. I want to count up the outrage.

While she may be well endowed, I dispute the fact that she is "hot." That being said, if that was truly the outfit she was wearing, and that is the reason why she was fired (which I doubt), she still does not have a case.

I find it disturbing that a very obvious point is being missed - the female was still so out-of-her-f'ing-mind insane that, when the cops showed up, they still arrested her. Let me ask you this, gents. Who always gets arrested when the cops are called? The man, in a neutral situation (everyone is acting sane). How crazy must this woman be to have the cops haul her off?

Nope. Not in the northern part, anyway. It's really much, much worse in the south, for minorities. There is a reason I don't "public" very often at all. I'm actually very terrified of policemen.

The only thing I would change would be to stop at the desk on my way out and pay for my items, as well as the tip for the entire meal (no need for the waiter to get stiffed). After that, they can go wash dishes for all I care.

Yeah, I know. But, my good person, do you really think that a judge, in criminal court, is going to take the word of one lone man over that of the potential victim and her chastity guards? No. No he will not. As for the actual charge, my guess is it will be related to skipping out on his portion of the bill. Perhaps all of it. The "derogatory texts" will not help his case.

Even if he gets jail time (unlikely) or hast to repay the restaurant (more likely), he has gotten away from crazy. I mean fucking really. Who goes on a blind date for the first time and doesn't bring any way to pay? Are you shitting me?

Relatively simple loophole, if I am reading the statue right. Simple state in court that all assumed support was a gift, that had not conditions attached, and could be removed at any time. Still, this is a right shitty principle...

I understand the argument, but disagree with the framing. There are groups of people on this site that are not interested in meaningful conversation. These groups have been identified, over and over, as troll (in this context meaning not interested in rational, logical conversation). Why continue to allow them to comment? Arguing with them will not change their minds, and conversing with them at all simply leads to mindless zombies invading the thread with downvotes, or cherry picking comments a…

The problem here is that religion (a religious concept) has been codified as law. Why? If two people wish to get married, why should we allow the government to get involved?

So, according to your premise, regulating the up end of attractiveness is a way to decrease the occurrence of "dick in crazy?" Sounds like a plan. You take the super hot ones, I'll take the average - above average. We'll see which group demonstrates "the crazy" first. FOR SCIENCE!

There are plenty of links to weather reports showing it was pretty clear that day. The thread has several people commenting on the vid, but no actual links. I can't tell if it was something a news organization reported, or just rumor.

Being persistent is altogether different from being courteous. For example, "I fundamentally disagree with you."

I live in the south. Chivalry is not dead here. Men around my area are learning how to deal with the recent surge in MRM detractors while remaining polite. I would call that a trait of the south, but I"m sure many will simply say it's because southerners are ignorant to the arguments. When I was a kid, a female cutting line at the gas station or grocery story would have gotten away with it clean. Now, they are routinely called out for it. Just one anecdotal and probably irrelevant example.
/r/MensRights15/03/12 11:18 AM

I have to fundamentally disagree. It seems to me that allowing the conversation to be lowered to a level were such rhetoric is acceptable is the method by which the movement will be lost. As for MRAs already exhibiting courtesy, well to be honesty, it think it depends on the poster. The ones that have actually "though the shit through," as you say, seem to be more able to respond with logic / facts. The ones who that have not, or are simply having a bad day, actually contribute to the degradatio…

/r/MensRights15/03/12 01:16 AM

While the post has it's points, it is presented in a most troll like manner. I would respond with an inquiry on how, using legal action, the OP suggests we are to address these issues. I would also speak to how several women have left me for "not showing enough emotion." Men are showing emotion here. Is that not something that is admirable? I would do all this. If I wanted to feed the (suspected) troll. Please note the bot has been downvoted in this thread.

I agree with you in the idea that there needs to be a forum were the ideas behind MRM can be debated in a constructive manner. I, personally, would happily welcome such discussion, but as you say, it needs to be done from a respectful position. Screeching and such gets us no where. With the possibility of this space being used to that ideal, quite frankly gentlemen, we need to clean it up. If this is the direction the community wants to proceed in, then we need to set the example. I know it is i…

I can agree with using such posts as an exercise, but the rest of the post about how to make the argument I believe should be heeded. Do not let anyone drag you down to their level and beat you with experience, as they say. Our adversaries have had plenty of time to form reactions to reactionary, knee-jerk comments made without proper forethought and in the heat of the moment.

All, While I believe that the MRM has some serious "marketing" problems that need to be addressed before the idea will be accepted by the mainstream, there is something that I have not yet seen in these comments: This is the Southern Poverty Law Center. It only continues to receive funding as long as there is a "threat" to it's consumer base. While it does do good work in some areas, this is nothing more than a money grab. And right at budget time, too. Simply dismiss this article as a special f…

Most women, even ones who assert they are "different" and do not want kids or marriage, will eventually want marriage and kids. This is the real issue, isn't it. Do these women, at the time of the conversation, really lack the desire to procreate, and later change their minds? Or do they believe that they must pick out a suitable sperm donor, lie to him, and deceive him? The first option points to a deep seated issue with how society expects women to behave, and the second to a deceitful nature.…

This article, it gave me the lols. I went to college, grad in 05, got a career, and switched it in the middle of the great recession, moved back home to take care of my parents (and purchased a house near them, of course). I am not wealthy, but manage to put a little away every month. I am financially independent. I'm also a good guy. I respect women (that doesn't mean I'm buying dinner every time, btw). MMMkay. I know this is going to sound a bit ... harsh, but why, for the love of God, do guys hang around a love interest that is obviously only interested in being friends? Does that not make you miserable? I cannot imagine you are looking for other potential mate while you are pining away for this chick who, by her own admission, considers you a sheep. Here's a solution that sucks way less - let it go. Ignore her. Be civil, but make it clear that you are not really interested in her as a friend…
