She did, with: "Beautiful. See ya... maybe."

Ha, my actual response to her was: Sounds good. We'll make like the morning after pill and become each other's plan b.

By accepting the consequences and putting that relationship behind you. You're also placing too much of your happiness onto an external source like her, which is squandering your potential. I dunno how old you are, but I'm 41 and let me say that you don't want to end up like me figuring this shit out in your late 30s. It won't be the end of the world, but you will have wasted all that time you could have capitalized on building a better version of yourself.

If you already know this, then be a man and move the fuck on. The same shit's happened to me and prolly 98% of this sub, and we can all tell you without a shadow of doubt that things won't turn out the way you imagine they might, if you don't put her behind you.

Ok let's settle this once and for all, and if you keep posting what ifs & how do i's after this, then you're either a) trolling this sub, or b) attached to your misery. If the latter, then seek professional therapy. If you've read any of Rollo's books, then you may be familiar with the concept of the war brides that he presents. Basically, he argues that women—through evolutionary conditioning over a long period of time—have adapted to be better at detaching themselves emotionally than men. It w…

Go read Rational Male Vol 2 and refrain from using derogatory words like the ones found in your title on this sub. TRP is about male improvement and masculine awareness—not misogyny.

Seek a psychoanalyst and get ready to spend the next 3–5 years of your life getting sorted out. Not a CBT-based therapist, not a LCSW, and definitely not a psychiatrist. Seek a psychoanalyst for either psychoanalysis or psychoanalytic therapy (there is a difference, Google it). Background: I went through this debilitating depression for the last 5–6 years. It started off while I was in a toxic LTR before eventually ending things with her and deciding that it'd be a good time to finish acquiring …

This is a whole other level of "opportunistic". Mine had multiple suitors coming at her, e.g. sugar daddies (money), alpha bad boys (dick), and blue-pilled simps (attention). She also tried initiating me into her lifestyle by getting me to meet her other partners, and that's when our first conflict occurred because there was no way I was ever going to comply into that scheme. If it helps set your mind at ease about the shit testing, polys are typically easy to read because they pride themselves …

I'm not sure what Phoenix has available, so I'd do a search and see what comes up. In my town there are a few men's groups focusing on masculinity; in fact, they even have one that covers the steps in the No More Mr Nice Guy book.

Oh boy, get ready for psychological warfare. I plated one last year and although she was fine AF and the sex was good, the stress from her constant shit tests and attempts at hijacking my frame made it easy to move on once I finally dropped her ass. If she's anything like the way mine was, then you'll find it amusing when she begins dropping plans that she had made with you at the last minute and disappears for days/weeks at a time. They're outwardly solipsistic and don't hide their opportunism.

She doesn't need him to follow through with an LJBF; only to comply with the request in order to ease her anxieties about it. In all likelihood she'll never reach out to him again, so for him to say "yeah, ok" is basically giving her what she wants on a silver platter—a pass for her behavior. Walking away without complying AND seeming indifferent about it is key here.

While we're on the subject, I wanted to throw this one out there—has anyone ever slept with a woman who straddled her legs around your waist while doing missionary and then proceeded taking over the thrusting? How did you interpret it? One of my last lays did this and I thought she was wanting to dominate, so I teased her about it before taking back control.

Amused mastery is definitely a part of it. If younger women go for older men, then it's a combination of this, your attitude and looks. Amused mastery = having coin, having your shit together (hopefully), and leading a more autonomous/authentic life.

Women are fickle this way; always have been, always will be. Thinking that something went wrong (e.g. did I not fuck her good, did she find better dick etc) will only serve to anchor you in that dread. This is courtesy of the pedestalizing of women most modern men have been brainwashed into believing. Do you lose sleep over guy friends you have a falling out with? Women should be treated the same way; the only thing that makes them different is their internal plumbing and behavior. Other than th…

"Attention is the coin of the realm in girl-world." — Rollo Also, if we were to strip down (major pun intended) what you're witnessing to its primeval root, then the reason they're behaving this way is because a woman's strength is her sexuality; while for a man, it's his physical prowess, i.e. why lifting is constantly prescribed on here. Then, take into account that there's a pandemic going on where people are more bored and restless than usual. You take a woman's ego, which thrives on attenti…

This situation with her is over; you can keep pursuing her if you want, but you'll be going against TRP philosophy and will ultimately get screwed over by this person—if not with more petty drama along the way, then with a potentially miserable, ambition-draining LTR. You've essentially demonstrated to her through many faulty actions that she has the capability to "get to you" if she wanted to—now imagine how she could pull your strings if you were in something more committed with her. I persona…

It seems like the two of you kept in frequent contact over text/social media, which was maybe good for a bit of rapport building between meets, but you also ran the risk of becoming her emotional tampon if she sensed that she was able to confide in you (eventually taking over the frame because of this). A soft next could have helped remedy the situation by resetting the communication a bit, but I personally don't think that's enough in the end. How you go about arranging your next meet), how you…

Those are some solid points you made, especially about ZFG. To answer your question as to why I'm going out of my way for this one, it's because she's worthwhile company (both physically and chemistry-wise), whereas I'm done with other plates by the third or fourth date regardless of their looks. I wasn't outcome dependent with her (wasn't seeking exclusivity), but did want for things to keep going longer. Dating her was fun.

I still have a sneaking suspicion that those plutonic friends of hers were in fact her lovers (the female included), and that she was trying to initiate some poly meet and greet between us. She's hinted enough times about open dating and not wanting to get trapped in a loveless LTR like her parents. The more I think about it, she lied to save face in that moment, and that she pulled back possibly after discussing it with the friends post-date. No, thanks. I fuck her on my own terms without any c…

Straight up. There is one thing that I forgot to mention, which is beginning to annoy me a bit: She said she'll be busy until one day short of this concert I've been working on getting tickets for the two of us. She knows this, so I'm presuming she doesn't want to reestablish contact until just before then (opportunistic), so a part of me's wanting to go a bit dark triad on her by not responding until after the show, and then telling her nonchalantly later how I wasn't able to acquire tickets, b…

Bud, I consider myself smaller to average, thanks to over twenty years of porn having ruined my perception on the matter, and I've had NO problems in the bedroom when satisfying my parents (👈 typo my phone made while intending to write "partners", but left it in [no pun intended] 'cause I thought that it was hilarious—albeit a bit Freudian). Size shouldn't be the marker to determine whether you're satisfying a sexual partner or not—her putting the pillow over her face to mute her screams would b…

Give it time to let it settle down and reevaluate your approach in the future. Let's take the girlfriend out of the equation and talk about sharing our feelings in general. Contrary to the popular belief that sharing our feelings is a good thing, it actually isn't in many situations, because you leave yourself open to judgment and interpretation by people who are either not qualified to assess that information, or worthy enough to attain such intimate, private knowledge about you. I learned this…

There's nothing wrong with focusing on sex—what makes it potentially wrong is when you value it more than your own worth; i.e. if you value yourself highly, then everything else should naturally fall into place, and sex won't become the default motivation factor—your self-respect will. So figure out how to respect yourself more and then you'll be sorted.

You need to find a way to address your concern to him, either through a close family friend, relative, or directly. I lost my dad when I was five, so I know what it feels like not having had a parent around—even thirty-four years after his passing. Maybe tell him how much it would mean to you, if he was able to continue being a part of your life in the future, instead of absent. Perhaps consider facilitating an intervention with other people who you can trust.

Friend, she sounds extremely toxic to me. Get away, unless you want to eventually lose your shit over her. I'm talking like losing your job and livelihood because of this person. The other commenter was absolutely correct about this being some TRP PhD territory—use the momentum of the experience (validation via high-SMV female affirmation) to land yourself other high-SMV prospects. And definitely try acquiring plates, to act as an emotional buffer for these types of situations. And her asking yo…

What about other family, i.e. siblings, aunts, uncles etc? If you haven't reached out to them about it, then consider this. In situations like these, sometimes getting another adult, closer to your dad's age to seriously hear you out and communicate your concern to your dad could make the difference. Also, why don't you feel comfortable then, leaving the house if mom could stay back and watch him?

It was a while back, and the only portion of it I still remember is the one she sent me via text that got me to cut things off with her. I lost interest after our first date, so when she texted me a few days after I politely communicated this to her. She also knew that I was going on a trip overseas in a couple of weeks, and mentioned something about wanting to give it another shot and if I'd be willing to meet with her again. I thought about it for a while and then agreed to a second date. Beca…

It depends. If they're not an asshole yet we just don't vibe, then I finish my drink sooner rather than later, get up and let them know that that I need to end the date early and that it was cool meeting them. If they inquire why, then I simply say that I wasn't feeling it. That's it, nothing else, walk away. However, if they're being outright unpleasant—especially during the first meet—then I get up and walk away with no explanation. And if they text, then I don't respond. I next them all the w…

I asked because society may sometimes label older men as creepy if they appear threatening to women because of the things that they say. For example, a guy in his twenties who's considered a little naïve may get away more often than not with sexually-laced, benign banter in social settings; however, a guy pushing his forties may no longer get that pass, as it'd be contradictory to the way that he's supposed to be behaving; i.e. you're expected to be all grown-up and know better by then. So if yo…

You don't blab about other women you're involved with—you imply if needed, and covertly, through said actions already illustrated by the senior commenter. Disclosing other plates breaks one of Tomassi's Iron Rules. Let your date figure it out on her own and build up that competition anxiety, as handing that intel over to them so easily can turn them off.

Although I appreciated your perspective to a certain degree, I also got the sense that you were skirting around the poly playbook a little too close in your argument. You're essentially advocating for maintaining 'detached" relationships simultaneously, rather than dating multiple people on a more casual basis. I don't generally consider myself cold or detached in my interactions with the women that I date, but I do draw a clearer line as to how far I'm willing to take it with them on an emotion…

Because his indiscretion was communicated directly to her. Girl in the second graf never wanted to leave her guy; she just wanted to get back at him.

Your sexual prowess can be implied, instead of being communicated directly to her, i.e the medium IS the message. Women will resent it when a guy communicates this type of indiscretion to them in an overt manner; not only did OP do this, but he also planted a seed of scornful doubt in her mind so unforgiving, that I wouldn't be surprised if she capitalizes on it one day with sweet alpha revenge fuck. The last female I encountered in a similar situation cheated on her guy with me because of this.…

You broke Tomassi's Iron Rule #2: NEVER, under pain of death, honestly or dishonestly reveal the number of women you’ve slept with or explain any detail of your sexual experiences with them to a current lover. Next time try getting her anxiety competition revved up in a more subtle, refined way.

Ok, so it sounded to me like you were nearing a rage at the time of writing your post. I hope that you've had a chance to take a breather and calm down a bit. Go easy on yourself and your situation; forgive yourself and your family (mom included) for your perceived & factual shortcomings. Make peace with them so that you can move forward with your life. Your situation sounds similar to mine in many ways, except for one significant aspect—I'm 38 and have about fifteen years of regret from past decisions I made that have altered my situation and presented this isolation that I now feel because of it. Just like you, I've been fortunate with work & income; my employers even gave me their blessing to go back to school and finish my college degree.
