I was already corrected about this and made a comment on it. I think that they are being called MRA even though they don't claim to be themselves, is pretty problematic.

Fair enough. Thanks for clearing that up.

I know. It's crazy to think that people are equal when you can just look at them and see if they have some white meat dangling between their legs and decide they're trash.

Fuck off. Are you seriously claiming our worst enemy is some fuckwads at Return of Kings and not the gigantic sociopolitical movement that actively opposes every one of our goals and tries to get us forcibly silenced by any means necessary? No I am not. Fuck those guys. I'm talking about this subreddit too. Similarly to how feminism is it's own worst enemy - MRA does a terrific job at focusing some of its effort on hate from feminism. This is bad. The two sides will only see the other as the hat…

Absolutely, and it's terrifying. People are buying into this bs and eating at eachothers' throats.

Only reason I know it is because of the fire that she received recently. I don't understand what the fuss is about either. The actress did fine, her character was very sub-par, but that's not really on her, since she did a fine job acting the part. I'll bet that when this is all over I'll happily forget her name and remember her as that girl that went to that stupid planet with Finn.

And in doing so, you'll achieve nothing but promoting veiled bigotry and cult propaganda. I know that your heart is in the right place, but please do not fight fire with fire. Be like water, I guess. SJWs are a problem. A huge problem. I just don't believe that the solution is in the path that you want to go. Quite the contrary.

Maybe I'm being utopian, but that doesn't seem like a real gain to me. At least not the end gain that I would like to see.

Be like Stephen Amell then. No gain in being vindictive against vindictive people.

She's an actress, she took a job in a highly anticipated and probably well paid franchise. The fuck you want from her specifically? If you got beef with someone, take it out on the directors, story writers, producers and so on. Yeah the character was trash but the fucking Oliver Queen character in Arrow is trash too, doesn't mean it's Stephen Amell's fault.

I will agree with you on this one. After reading through the article, going through their sources, it doesn't seem like ROK did attack Kelly Marie Tran directly. Even if they actually did we know that this wasn't us. At least I know this wasn't me, and I hope and believe that it wasn't you either. Yet somehow we're being criminalized for their perceived actions. Just goes to show what this whole debate has devolved into.

Yes they did, and that sucks. It sucks to be a white man and reading all this fucking bs that goes through the media about how white men suck and are lesser beings. It just fucking sucks. That said don't forget that the biggest enemy of feminism is feminism, and the biggest enemy of MRA is MRA. It's that simple. People are turning this into an "us vs them" thing, where "us" is Feminism/MRA and "them" is the other, but in reality the "us vs them" is "us", the reasonable people, vs "them", the not…

They're not wrong though. Return of the Kings is full of assholes, and they do call themselves MRAs. There's an important distinction between someone who wants to fight for mens rights at the advantage of men, and someone who wants to fight for mens rights at the disadvantage of women. Use this opportunity to imagine that not all feminists are feminazis either. Don't let the radical crazies get you, no matter what they label themselves as.

How about backing projects based on how promising they and the people behind them are, and not on gender and ethnicity?

Because people are more busy helping themselves than each other, and even worse, people are busy helping themselves by hurting others. The whole "us vs them" mentality that is rampant in feminism and that I also see here from time to time is severely crippling progress.

I'm curious how you would quantify who is most oppressed?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
