Yup I've used it for the same thing, doesn't really matter what happens it's all a learning experience. Hope it works out for you!

I had a situation almost exactly like this a few years ago and I said 'hey so I woke up this morning 29 years old. Kind of a Tom Hanks in Big situation. Birthday drinks tonight?' And that worked. Maybe worth a shot but if you take her seriously about the age thing you're going to lose.

So you were trying to get her to chase but your message kind of sub communicates the opposite. Like it establishes that you're going to try to put together the best date ever, which 1. Is a lot of pressure on both of you and 2. Makes the 'if you're lucky' come off weird because it doesn't fit with the frame you're actually communicating. I would just drop this one. In the future maybe drop the idea of negging entirely. It's just so easy to see through and lets her know that you thought she neede…

Dude look at your own language here. You're a nice guy. So why are you so quick to call your friend "pathetic" for trying to find a way to better himself? You're a nice guy. So why are you so ready to call the guys that get girls "stupid" when you haven't met them? You're not that nice a guy. You're just afraid of confrontation. You stew in your own anger and it seeps out in the way you talk about people, the way you think about people, and I'm sure even the way you act towards women. They can s…

I didn't mean to imply that it was my decision, it was most definitely my parents' decision. The reason I included "for cosmetic reasons" was to highlight the fact that I had nothing medically wrong with my foreskin that required removal

I don't have a problem with anything in this reply. It's obvious that you've thought a lot about the issue and have come to conclusions which you can support logically. If everyone in this sub put the same amount of thought into their convictions I think the problem as I see it would all but disappear. I think a lot of the pain surrounding this issue is a direct result of ignorance, and I hope everyone will read what you wrote. I came out of this discussion with a slightly different opinion than…

I appreciate you taking the time to seriously engage with what I've written. Here's what I was getting at with the "pressure" and "academic" qualifiers. In an academic sense the definition of mutilating is "to injure, disfigure, or make imperfect by removing or irreparably damaging parts". There is no debate that that one of my parts has been removed, and that I was injured in the process. Here's the thing though, when you move beyond the definition of the word, you find that it implies differen…

Thank you, I didn't mean to belittle your experience at all. Your compassion means a lot, this is the kind of thing I hoped to get out of this thread

I'm sorry dude, I'm not meaning to be the thought police over here. I realize some people feel differently than I do and I don't want to silence those people

I'm going to reply to you because your comment is the most well thought out so far. First maybe I should clarify things. I don't mean to encourage the censorship of people who want to call circumcision mutilation. My goal was just to get people thinking about/discussing the implications of the word. I see that a few people left angry comments so maybe I went about that in the wrong way. As far as your question goes, I don't think it's a fair comparison. If anything, circumcision is equal to type…

Saying that there could be a man out there who will take a revealing dress as an invitation to rape is not the same as saying that men in general can't control themselves. You jump from talking about one man in a hypothetical situation to talking about all men. The graphic itself makes this jump too, and I think that is what is offending people here.

Sweet thanks for the reply dude, I get the feeling a lot of stuff comes back to experience

I always hear to space out the texts a little more so you don't come off as over-eager. Are you not doing that because you're getting constant IOIs from her? Obviously the interaction went well, I just would like to know what made you comfortable with responding so quickly

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
