Because the military is a right-leaning organization and opposes the use of birth control on moral grounds. It's not legal for military hospitals and clinics to perform or refer for abortions and they do not necessarily make birth control available. 41% of enlisted women cite difficulty accessing birth control. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/23121821/

NOW or NARAL are not opposed to this - it's the Vatican that would raise hell.

Interesting, but I can't quite see that. A guy who drugs up to win a race is really just trying to pick up chicks? Body building tends to repulse women so I don't see how steroids could ever be more for dating than for performance.

Is their goal attractiveness or success at sports? Usually people use steroids - both men and women - for the latter. It's doubly unfortunate if they're doing it for women, because women don't even like bulky guys.

Grabbing someone's boob without permission in ANY situation is assault. It is ALWAYS wrong.

It's not socially awkward people who grab you without permission - it's assholes. If you appreciate what you see, encourage it by obeying the no touching rule! There are rules yes, but they're not working and we need an attitude change, not just enforcement. How can come possibly enforce these rules anyway? It's too common, and after grabbing your ass or breast, what, are we supposed to chase them and follow until we can find a con cop? It's not about oggling. No one cares about oggling.

No, he doesn't. It's complete BS. ACA does not cover heart screenings for women. Here's the list: http://www.healthcare.gov/news/factsheets/2010/07/preventive-services-list.html#CoveredPreventiveServicesforAdults The only extras women get are related to breasts and uteri.

Vasectomies are inexpensive, quick, low-risk out-patient procedures. All they do these days is stick a bead in there. It's probably simpler than getting a piercing down there. Tubal ligation? That's surgery, hospital stay and high rates of subsequent interventions. People rarely struggle to get their insurance to cover vasectomy.

STI testing is covered for all adults, as is HIV screening. Check the list in the 'adult' section.

Actually men are close to 100% of rapists - between 99 and 95%. When you look at many rape cases, what you see if men egging their friends on. The Steubenville rape case for example - if one of those guys had been brave enough to take a stand and stop it, the victim might have been protected and their friends might not be headed to jail. Instead, they took pictures of the rape and forwarded it to others to brag. So, while only about 8% of men are rapists, their friends have the most power to do …

It's not attempting to devalue male suffering any more than the original post was attempting to devalue female suffering. If you are looking at male vs female suicide, this is the other relevant fact. If you want to understand the issue, the original post is meaningless without this to give it context. So, men, if you feel like you want to end it all, drop the gun and instead take a dose of sleeping pills and see how you feel in the morning.

Women actually attempt at three times the rate of men, but are very unlikely to use firearms, knives, jumping, walking in front of a bus or other methods more likely to succeed because they do not want to be disfigured in death. If you want to still look pretty in your coffin, your options are poison or overdosing on pills, both of which are slow-acting and far easier for medical intervention to prevent than blowing one's head off.

One person posted it, many voted it up. When complaints about sexism on issues that clearly have nothing to do with gender appear high on the subreddit, it makes MRAs look ridiculous. Also the post about how all adult men in war zones have been classified by the US as "combatants". As if making all adult men and women "combatants" would be such an improvement.

Sick people are, almost by definition, crazy. Nurses get stabbed by needles all the time, doctors bitten, and everyone is trained to not escalate the situation when violence occurs. Security guards, especially should be able to deal with events like this.

"Suzanne Venker is pitting us against each other. This is the extreme exception. It's also his talk of "date fraud" that is seriously fucked up and disturbing. She's cheating you if she says no but is still friendly?

Same sex marriage is an attack on men's rights, single motherhood is an attack on men's rights, abortion and contraception are attacks on men's rights. To summarize the concern - men not owning women is an attack on men's rights. Oh, and women want to be raped.

yeah I've read that. It's full of shit. Feminism has always been about equal rights, just in the dimension of gender rather than full egalitarianism. Historically the biggest issues have been voting rights, property ownership, contraception and right to choose when and who to marry. Today it's equal pay and fair access to healthcare. Your concerns are regarding the implementation of the ideology and the accuracy of the facts presented, not the actual philosophy.

In the US several states have had court challenges regarding "women's nights"/specials in bars. It's illegal now and bars have "lipstick" nights.

By US law, it's a private "club". So is legal, but yeah.... Not sure about Canada.

It's not legal in the US to have women-only spas. Private clubs can discriminate, but public services cannot discriminate on the basis of race, gender or religion. If you get denied, contact the HHS office for civil rights, or your state agency. Companies can of course still kick you out for being a rude or disruptive. I've seen men at both spas I go to. One even has special manly bathrobes and manly-styled coupons for men.

Providing "free" contraception is like minting money. It's a great ROI. Not having access to contraception causes poverty, health issues and early death, all of which cost the state and the general economy.

Yes. I have yet to actually hear one. I know some, but none of you seem concerned with actual injustice and people's well being. It's all about how some random girl on facebook is sooooo stupid.

Unlike men's, women's clothing does not have standard sizes. 'Fantasy sizing' means that some brands purposefully mislabel their sizes in hopes women will be so happy they can still squeeze into a 8, they'll buy anything. The result is you have to look over a 4-6 size range to find your actual size.

Do you really think women should have been drafted in WWII? Vietnam? Neither did our armed forces. That's the era the draft laws hail from. If and when women are actually allowed in combat, when the armed forces would actually make use of drafted women, then the laws will change. Let's just hope we never have to have another draft. It was designed to replace war casualties. Let's just not have high numbers of war casualties.

That's like saying because we're so horrified when children are murdered we obviously don't care about adults so much. Women, children and elderly are historically grouped in the "non-combatant" category. It's shocking and disgraceful when someone uses violence against a seemingly harmless and helpless individual. It's not that people not enraged and distraught when good men die, but there's not the additional shock value.

There are plenty of self defense classes for women, mostly sponsored by feminist groups. I think you'd be surprised at how many women carry pepper spray or know how to make improvised weapons out of car keys etc.

Look at your #1 and #4. Men are also the vast majority of perpetrators of violence. Will solving #1 solve #4? I'd say everyone is expected to defend themselves and others, as well as we can. But if men are weapons, they'd be a lot better at it.
