44 here. What about women around our age? I find they aren't as attracted to the same games. They are much more serious

I can't get past a 15 year age difference. I feel like I'm an older scumbag.

Where do you meet people at your age? Serious.

This was a very insightful post about sexuality. Good read, thanks.

I'm quite proud of you for overcoming some very tough odds. This experience spans beyond your quest for success with women. It sounds like you've made great strides as a person, and that's really hard for people to do. Kudos to you!!!

Thanks, brother. I have Carnegie's book as an audiobook and plan to move through it soon. The greatest parts of Seddit are those that discuss why things work - I actually would love to see more of that in people's FRs. For example, when someone writes about a particular thing he did or a particular reaction that someone had, it would be cool if that person followed with a discussion of the theory, just to hammer it home and invite further discussion about the principles. It boils down to this: t…

Sure. There are a lot of very good, highly rated CBT books on Amazon. David Burns has authored some good ones. Mindfulness is also an excellent approach to learning how your emotions respond to your thoughts. The Mindfulness and Acceptance Workbook for Anxiety was recommended, and I currently have an audiobook of The Mindful Way Through Depressions (Williams). The title is a bit misleading, because it is not narrowly tailored to depression.

Honestly, there may be personality aspect to this that's deeper than this thread. Are you guarded? Are you "fake" or do you have a persona when you meet someone? If that's the case, guys can spot that quickly, and even if they say, "Hi," they might not continue on with you if there's something unnatural about the way you communicate.

Married guy here, and I read these forums to better my understanding of people and communication. I also have a lot of experience with cognitive behavioral therapy. A lot of the social-improvement programs focus on developing "inner game," or self-esteem, or "confidence," or something similarly phrased that refers generally to the way you perceive yourself. This forum is directed at a particular angle of that idea: how you perceive yourself with respect to your interactions, relationships, and v…

Yeah, or "with who? You need to narrow it down a bit.". Said cockily. Or "with whom," if you're a grammarian.

"Why" is accusatory; "what made" is more neutral and genuinely probing.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
