I'm pretty good at steering the conversation to the other person (when I'm paying attention), so that she talks about herself. Problem is, what is she's talking about something negative? (like her job). I find it hard to steer her away from negative feelings when she's opening up. I want to listen, but at the same time, I don't want to be an emotional punching bag. How do you walk the fine line?

I intend on discussing this with her. Before I had sex with someone, I didn't really think there was anything called sexual compatibility. I just thought, hey, two people get to get it on. How bad could it be? Oh, how wrong I was.

Letting her initiate everything seems to run contrary to the advice usually given here on the forum. But I guess I haven't seen something similar in FRs here before, so I guess it calls for something different. I do like the girl, not just using her to get off. I just have a different set of beliefs when it comes to sex. I've been in a relationship in HS with no sex, and was a virgin myself until 27. Been there, done that. At this point in my life, sexual compatibility is important in a relation…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
