I had a friend who spent three years in Fort Leavenworth military prison. He got released when a judge overturned his sentencing based on lack of evidence. Guess the charge? Rape. It’s terrible that we have gone completely in the opposite direction on these cases

I wasn’t condemning the sub. I was condemning the person who said that they wanted this person to be a rape victim. Don’t conflate the two. You are reading more into my comment then there is. I will say that this was a obviously a fake account and I was easily bamboozled so egg on my face, but in no way was I attacking a sub which I am a part of and support. I failed a advanced school in the army that was very important to my career in the infantry about a month ago. Failure happens, just remember that this state of being is temporary. It does not define you and who you are. All you can do is rise and keep fighting to become the man you know you should be. I find Meditations by Marcus Aurelius to helpful when I’m struggling. Also, look up “Man in the Arena” by Teddy Roosevelt. The greatness is in the attempt, not in the result.

That sounds like the fucking life. I still got like five years left on my commission, but when I’m out I really want to travel around Asia and work there. Reminds me of one of my NCOs. Guy was married three times, fucked in his divorces, and only gets to see his kids like one summer every two years. Guy is a absolute mad lad and he always tells the young guys don’t get married because the courts as a man will destroy you.

You are right, it is not allowed to have a mixed gender room with the door closed and cheating on a spouse is 100 percent a court martial offense which violates UCMJ. It was probably for the best you didn’t say anything man, it would not have gone well for you if the Marine Corps is like the Army in that way.

I saw this shit all the time too. I worked a few basic training details waiting for my orders to the Tenth Mountain Division to be cut and the advice I always gave the kids was to not marry as a junior enlisted guy. The Drill Sergeants said the same thing. Low and behold, like ten of them came back from Christmas leave with marriage certificates

This was TRADOC kinda shit. In FORCOM you won’t have to worry about this shit to much. At least on the combat arms side. On the officer’s side, it is very worrying to deal with. A absolute headache.

Most of the Army is pretty good, especially combat arms. One of the last few places that is a very masculine environment that is currently under assault. At least, I’ve gotten a lot out of it.

The point of the statistics is to prove that men in most ways take on a greater risk rather that be societal or professional. You can always try to immigrate if possible. For example, in the United States if you have enough capital to take the initial classes and gain citizenship it is possible to become a long haul truck driver. Warning though, there is talk that it might become an obsolete job. Of course, they’ve said that about a bunch of different jobs and have been wrong and right in equal measure.
