I wonder if the bias towards women in the stem field hiring experiment might be partly because of the gender disparity in the field, thus leading someone to prefer hiring a woman with similar qualifications over a man to make the gender ratio in their specific workplace or company closer to equal.

I’m super liberal but I’m not a fan of TYT. I generally support the same positions as them, but they are smarmy and annoying, like the lefts version of annoying Fox News or far right talk hosts. Maybe. To me the label of MRA does have the aura of having a large contingent of right wing members. Maybe because the acronym is so close to NRA, lol, I don’t know. However I’m for human rights and fairness and by extension that includes men’s rights, and because I’m a man I’m not only for it but have definitely felt this particularly at points in my life. I’m definitely for men’s rights, but don’t necessarily think someone has to see themself as an MRA to be for it.

I think MRA can have a negative connotation because of some of the right wing type people associated with it so I don’t necessarily consider myself an MRA. It’s a complex situation. It is true that generally more men are anti abortion and more women are pro choice, but as you point out the percentages are not THAT different. I think testosterone has a lot to do with men generally taking more risks. And risks are inherently, well, risky. I think that’s a little harsh. She did hire men too, just not enough per law, and she was only nine percent away which is not that egregious especially with so few positions (she would’ve only needed to hire two more men instead of women to be within requirements). And she’s going to pay the fine. I don’t agree with her stance that creating parity in the long term requires being unequal now though.

I don’t think there’s enough info here to make a proper judgment. The original source is a right wing outlet. It sounds like she still maintains that she was raped and she believes it wasn’t investigated properly.
