My grandmother was an extremely smart person, graduated with a 4.0 at her uni as one of only two women in the Business major. I don’t think she was ever happier than when she was finally able to make her own money as an accountant for a small travel agency in her 50s, after raising three children, having her own coin was like her reaching her full potential.

Agreed, ASAP is SET for life now that he’s forever tied to Rhi Rhi. Nobody’s been checkin for him since its not 2013 anymore so this move is only positive for him in ALL ways.

One of my bffs got her masters at edinburgh scotland university like 10 years ago and her thesis was based on interviewing exotic dancers and comparing their experiences to third-wave feminist theories related to “sex work”. I mention this because the UK has been extremely forthcoming about how destructive “sex positive” attitudes have been quite destructive.

Yo for real! It’s the whole “I am who I am” ideology which more often than not entails oversharing about past experiences which have “made me who I am — no apologies” which speaking as a millennial, never really worked out for me in hindsight.

Haha your comment makes me think of the Brooklyn 99 scene where Rosa asks Gina, “What’s the first thing you notice when a man approaches you?” and Gina responds “The audacity”.

How many of us have been in this same exact position with the police? The only reason why I was able to reclaim my apartment after an incident similar to this poor girls is because I had already filed a temporary restraining order 2 days before the police said that one of us needed to leave the apartment. My friend told me “you realize that you just gave up your apartment, right?” and the sheer panic and anger I felt was only relieved the next day when a police officer delivered the restraining …

Thanks bb, it’s like the twentieth time yet I’m hopeful it’s the last time I “break up”.

Thanks girl, I needed to read this after 2 years of terrible behavior that I would never accept if he was a friend. Still haven’t figured out why I waited a whole 10 years of being single just to carry on with an asshole but I’ll figure that out sometime soon, with my future therapist. Keep on keeping on.

There’s also the other end of the spectrum wherein “fathers” could care less about their daughters.

I’ve never actually thought of sex this way but you’re absolutely right. This is a part of leveling up and how hard it can be in practice by way of understanding some ruthless realities.

Sadly agreeing with this — they seem to really need that experience of maintaining a house on their own so they don’t revert to blaming [see: learned helplessness] others.

There’s an insightful thread on another forum titled, “Why are nurses married to bums?” and it’s an interesting read that offers some insight into the correlation between being a ‘caretaker’ and choosing a SO.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
