Yes. This. I think people mistake being cocky/arrogant/flamboyant for being confident and funny. To paraphrase, they need to stop being nice guys and become good men.

There's nothing inherently Beta about being nice. Don't unlearn how to apologize when you're wrong, how to find compromises, say please and thank you and generally be polite. Focus on learning how to be confident, funny and respectfully forward (aka 'Alpha') in addition to being nice.
