What you call "healing energy" is basically a hormone called oxytocin. It is addictive and it feels really good. When I saw doctorate degree, I thought it was just relatively easy PhD compared to the likes and thought you went through just regular stressful phases similar to other PhD programmes. I have English language teaching BA (non US) and only stressful period was 4th year. Sloppy, easy internship due to Covid measures.
