That's exactly why a male bc pill is so exciting: it doesn't have to be hormonal. You don't have to alter or trick the male reproductive system, you just have to stop the sperm from swimming.

"Respect is earned..." MLK is respected to the point of being a national hero, he's earned the respect of the whole country. Your "witty" saying is so irrelevant it's laughable.

Double edge razor. I tried other disposable razors, but tbh none were as good as Gillette IMO. But the double edge razor has definitely been better, and much much cheaper as well.

So many defensive arguments there about unpaid labor and housework. Which is irrelevant considering that the common political discourse is "equal pay for equal work."

I stopped watching after the standing ovation. Did I miss anything good? How is it okay to give a standing ovation to someone who mutilates their SO's genitals? How does that make any sense in any context? Freaking psychos, every one of them.

It's true. It's always that men need fixing. Boys have more energy? Instead of shaping society around their needs, we'll treat them as defective girls until they change themselves. Men have mental health problems? Instead of shaping society to relieve pressure on them, let's tell them it's their fault, that their natural response is incorrect, and that they need to fix themselves. I think back to yesterday, watching The Red Pill: the story of the man who committed suicide after losing in family …

Okay so let's take a step back and look at what sub we're in. Men's Rights. Not anti-feminism. This can be about Men's Rights without needing to be anti-feminism. Who said the infographic is meant to combat feminism? The infographic is meant to spread information about Men's Rights issues. This isn't the oppression Olympics; the image isn't meant to show who is more oppressed, it's just meant to shine a light on the issues. Yes, women could do the very same, and I would encourage it. Because as …

You hit the nail on the head. I don't like extreme feminists, but I've had good conversations with the everyday feminist, and made some progress. Sometimes this sub seems to forget that this movement has a battlefront IRL, not just online or in the media. Talk to people!

I appreciate your post, +1 from me. Extremism is a real danger to our community, especially in the current cultural climate. This sub does get echo chamber-y at times, as well. If feminism paints our movement as a hate filled echo chamber, the worst thing we can do is prove them right. Talking to people, and feminists in particular, is an important part of our movement. Branding them all as evil misandrists doesn't help us communicate. I've managed to talk to several feminists about men's issues…

During interviews with homeless men, Dej claims she learned that many aspire to “hegemonic masculinity,” which she defines as the type of masculinity that serves to “fortify the dominance of men” and ultimately “subordinate women.” However, she finds that it is difficult for homeless men to achieve this. Without the trappings of a successful life Wow the delusional ego and victim complex on this person. What makes her think she's so important that a human being who can't even find the comforts n…

I can't upvote you hard enough to make a difference in this thread, but I tried. You can say marriage isn't for you, or you can dream of marriage your whole life. The ideal situation would be the right to choose confidently. What we should be working for is evening out divorce rather than trashing marriage altogether, so that men can make that choice. We should be looking out for our brothers who want to marry and those whose marriages fail, rather than forcing people into life choices that avoi…

In addition to what was already said, I'd like to say that the movie is very good at disillusionment. It's not a slander of feminism, it doesn't present the MRM as some type of miracle cure to gender equality, but it DOES show very real evidence that the gender discussion isn't strictly an oppressor-oppressed dynamic and that men's issues exist and are swept aside by society, and especially by feminism. It's kind of an anti-echo chamber kind of deal. Basically the whole movie is a documentary fo…

While you are partially right, you're ignoring something vital. Feminism hates the MRM, and also occupies the highest offices in the western world, and is pop culture. We can try to do the same thing, but we're stifled by feminism. In addition, feminists claim to advocate for gender equality when instead what they push for is female empowerment. They claim that they also want to solve men's issues, use that to push back against the MRAs, then work against men's issues. Now I'm not making excuses…

Okay see now you're moving the goalposts. The original comment mentioned that the current education system favors the learning style of girls. You said, "women are better at learning." I pointed out that "learning" encompasses many different methods. Some methods make boys better at learning, some methods make girls better at learning. You seem to agree. This was the basis of the original comment. So what are you arguing? You don't get to change it to "women are better at studying," as "studying…

I'm sorry, but the argument is going completely over your head. You're being argumentative without arguing in good faith or listening to the argument. Your down votes are justified because you're not arguing the point, you're just repeating the same thing without giving any credit to an opposing idea. Running is running, no matter who is running. Boy learning is not the same as girl learning. Everybody learns differently (e.g. kinesthetic learning vs visual learning). Boys and girls learn things…

Holy Moly that lady on the far right is insufferable. "When you look back historically--" "please don't say it has to do with children." Okay, lady, first of all, she's about to say historically men have held positions of power, which is probably something you agree with, and second of all, yes, historically child rearing does have to do with gender equality, so even if she was going to say that (which she clearly wasn't, if you were paying attention), it's a worthy debate topic, and probably on…

We can care about multiple things at once. An attack on male only service is important. From your own list: what if this wasn't "just" a barber, what if this guy ran a club for homeless men to get cleaned up for job interviews and he turned away a woman because he didn't know how to cut her hair and provide professional clothing? I care about all the things you listed, but I also care that a man's life can so easily be negatively affected on the whim of a spiteful woman, and that people who prov…

I won't say this is false, but I can't really say it's true either. "The Future is Female" dates back to the 70s, before that essay was published. That said, both the slogan and the essay stemmed from radical lesbian feminism, so I'm sure there's a connection between the two. If anybody has more info, I would love to see it! Either way, I've never understood the adoption of this slogan in today's society... It's very TERF, and even SJWs don't like TERFs.

I respect your view, and I agree on all points. I think we just approach it from two different ways. I see articles about the war on boys in school and I believe that articles such as this reinforce that war by promoting a more vulnerable masculinity over allowing a spectrum, as you suggest. I see this article as more anti- roughhouse, stoic, excess energy boy, and more pro- calm, vulnerable boy, rather than allowing there to be a spectrum across both sides. I agree, we need to allow a spectrum,…

No it's not. His ideas align, but his suggested actions disagree. Boys don't need to be fixed, as he suggests, there's nothing intrinsically wrong with them. He says men are afraid to talk about masculinity, and that we need to change masculinity to be more open and vulnerable. MRM doesn't want to change masculinity, masculinity is intrinsic and changing it is dangerous to mental health. MRM believes society must change for men. And yes, that does take example from feminism. Feminism forced soci…

I got banned there for pointing out that the survey had a broad enough definition of "sexual assault" that an uninvited dance partner in the club would count as sexual assault, and so clubbing culture should be suspect for adding to the high numbers. I got to join the club today, too, for this comment I made regarding college sexual assault. I'm actually baffled. Good video, but I stopped watching halfway through because it depresses me :( (circumcised man here). It still baffles me how anybody could think circumcision is a good idea... How can anybody knowingly subject their son to that? Even without all the scientific facts about sensation and sex, what about the baby that's screaming his head off while you chop off a piece of his reproductive parts? What could possibly make you think that's okay to do? Knowing all this stuff is a struggle for me...

Fair enough, I guess that's not the right angle. The only other angle would be from the legal definition. As the article states, the courts didn't originally allow the man to sue because his case didn't meet the "extreme and outrageous" clause. Upon further review, they decided that storing sperm after oral sex and then using it to impregnate yourself is "extreme and outrageous." The only thing left to debate in your view would be whether lying about a form of birth control in order to have unpr…

I could be wrong, but... No? Because you would still have your reproductive rights, there are multiple options for you to deal with the pregnancy. This guy didn't have those options, he simply found out one day that he has a child that he never had a choice in, never had a chance to take part in raising, and whom he doesn't have any custody over. But he still has to pay child support.

That's just a personal view... Nowadays I learn to improve myself, but as a child all the way up until college (where I learned I was a dumbass compared to everybody else), I definitely learned in order to beat my classmates. And I know this is generalizing, but don't most guys like to try to solve things themselves? That's the classic "Honey please just pull over and ask for directions" scenario. In high school, I prided myself on figuring things out for myself, and it's why I loved (and excell…

I hate this, man. My brother's gf got a computer science internship recently over him. He has a similar GPA, but is a year further in college than her and he has club leadership experience and everything. She was a 2nd year with a blank resume. It does make sense. You seem to have the idea that all of the women are segregated there, which is incorrect, there are women everywhere. However if they choose, they may sit in the Women-Only corner. If you're a man there with a group of women, you hopefully aren't going to molest your female friends. If your group is all male, then all the women in the corner are strangers. The goal is to prevent men from touching women who are strangers. So if they so desire, women can segregate themselves to…

While I was there, I also found a few train cars that were Women only. At first I was like "that's kind of sexist," but then I got on the train at peak traffic, was squished up in a train car packed tighter than a sardine can, and had to try my very hardest to not accidentally molest the people around me every time the train swayed. That + the stories of groping I hear, and I see it as at least a decent stopgap measure.

I was talking about sexual assault, no? Do give me enough credit to argue the same thing. Please note I'm not the person you're responding to, and as a casual in the gender politics arena, I'm sure I'm in over my head but I'm willing to talk and learn so: I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say this is where the argument in this whole debate lies. This is why I'm personally tired of feminism, and I'm growing tired of even the MRHM. Sexual assault sucks. So do violent crimes. As a man, you're rig…

The original tweet says How do we get some men to understand that while they feel powerless other men still have massive power? which implies that just because a few men have massive power that the problems of the common man don't mean anything. How do we get women to realize that while they might not have personal access to healthcare, birth control, and the like that plenty of other women do, so they shouldn't worry about their personal problems? This was my main gripe with the article. Maybe they did studies, but from my personal experience, that's not how arguments go. The relationship is better when she calms down first because that way she can actually think instead of being a ball of emotion. Bars and clubs suck at this kind of stuff (or at least as far as I know in the US). This mindset is purposefully perpetuated by these institutions to bring women in, because men will follow. It's kind of upsetting.

I may be biased as a University student, but crazy bitches in charge of the student union is a big deal and not just a local issue. A lot of people I know, including myself, only start to open up their eyes to politics that effect them while in university. Many potential feminists or MRAs will develop their views in uni and spread it beyond the local spectrum.

You should be interested in that definition of "sexist" because it in turn leads to legal discrimination based on gender. If the common population believes that you can't sexually discriminate against men, the sentiment will carry over into law.
