I understand but the odds of it is, unless she gave you eye contact, no woman is gonna be delighted at interruption especially when they’re working on something and they’re busy. But all power to your approach. Good luck ! (I’m a woman and I’ve seen this approach fail so many times that I just smh )

I agree with your sound logic 100%. Your reason and wisdom are resoundingly true in their entirety.

This is so beautiful!

This is really insightful. At what stage did you know you were in love with your husband back then?

Exactly! It's easier to set the pace when the stakes are lower rather than set yourself or the other person up for financial abuse in the future. Yes, finances are one of the top five reasons for divorce.

True, guys put up with a lot of BS! You shouldn't have to

I cleared it with him. I had to because most men in the past felt emasculated. He said it was refreshing to meet an assertive woman and that he'd let me have my way. I explained to him that for me, it was my way of respecting him and myself and that he is not obligated nor should I be entitled to anything when I have so much fun with him too.

Thank you! I talked it out today and he said he was turned on by my assertiveness rather than being emasculated. I'm just like you there :)

I feel the same. He doesn't owe me anything.

I'm the same. I don't need a high scale fancy thing. I do small things like sushi, coffee, random food truck, wing bars, etc

Thank you Mr Stranger!

Less than $30?

Exactly this! The man should not be expected to pay for anything. Especially on first dates. If you're a woman with a spine, pay! It shows you’re a mature adult. The only point I’d accept the guy paying if it were a long term relationship and he wants to treat or surprise you with something special like a birthday or some other meaningful day. Then I’d gladly thank him and tell him how much that means to me.

Exactly my point, but I’ve heard and been thrown off for them feeling emasculated. My point being, i don’t take anything for granted and certainly not when its friends, hanging out or even dates. I will pay for my share always .

I grew up in a household that taught me to be strong for myself and not expect anything from anyone. But at the same time, i dont want to emasculate the guy. So i want to know how can I be myself without offending or emasculating him ?

I ended giving him puppy doggo eyes and saying “pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaassssseeee, pretty please”

I don’t think it is right of me to expect something from a guy who is also a college student like me. I know the struggles of making ends meet, its only fair and natural to offer for your part always. It’s my form of respect and courtesy. Also, my guy doesn’t have desserts, so I’m optionless there.

I'm the type that believes in splitsies. I'm trying to be myself yet not offend him. I'm wondering how I can do so?

You have a good point

Gotcha. I don't red pill my friends but I do see the contrast and yes, sometimes they do think I'm less interesting for having my principles and ethos. Thank you for the clarification! :)

I hope she finds a good guy soon.

Thank you so much for your advice and words of wisdom . You have so many good points. Our culture always enforces politeness on us to the point where people think its rude to say no. I need to be more assertive from now on.

Maybe. But my version of being a feminine female is right for me. And that's what matters for me. I live for myself. Not for the sake of the society or for others.

There is a level of venting we do. Not 8 months or more of daily venting about an ex

I’m lacking on the second point, whenever i suggest we do something, it’s always met with a no. She only calls when she needs someone or is bored with her life or she isn’t getting attention with other friends or she has to vent. That’s why it hurts me.

No, we don’t complain, we’re both strong independent women. We have a lot in common like academics, majors, family and upbringing, hobbies etc

Thank you for that line, yes, it definitely feels like a therapy session every time with one of them.

True, I always assume they'll realize that, I don't know how to say it. Last time my friend vented me about her breakup for 8 months, before I snapped and asked her to write a journal and not talk to me about her ex. This apparently hurt her feelings. But 8 months of daily venting can make anyone snap

I do things selflessly and ppl tend to use me for their emotional needs and support. And the only one time when I ever need them for something they show their real colors

Do I say no to them when they decide to start venting for months?where do I draw the line?

ELEGANCE: Is the way of being humble, fluid, calm and rational. The woman is poised and has standards for herself. GRACE: When a woman is kind, generous, benevolent and operates on a higher state of mind. (She’s not a girl) WISDOM: A wise woman is a diamond hard to find but is rare indeed. Wisdom in a woman gives her foresight and knowledge. LOYALTY: Is being committed to her dreams/goals/ambitions or a man or anything else she pursues. It reflects on her determination and will power. Thank you so much. My 4 bottles are usually sober. I come from a heavy drinking culture so my tolerance for wine is high. I'll ditch that condom then.....bye bye buddy.
