From my experience, guys and girls rate "intelligence" differently. When a girl says she is attracted to smart guys, what she usually means is that she is attracted to someone with a lot of social intelligence, i.e. the Dark Triad. If I want my genes to be passed on, I could just donate my sperm. Also, I find it more practical to have proteges than blood heirs. With proteges, they actually WANT to learn from you, which will help them learn faster and better, and you aren't restricted to maybe 1-5 of your kids.
