2	Highly biased child protective services interview They are there together because they need a witness for whatever they put into the report, regardless of what is actually said. You, as someone being investigated by CPS, don't need a lawyer or advocate or witness, because all they want to do is "help" you. When I tell people that I will not open my home to CPS workers, that I will not permit my children to be interviewed by or even speak to someone from CPS, I get the whole, "If you have nothing to hide" attitude.
