Your anxiety will be the first thing you need to fix. To this day I still get somewhat nervous when I ask for a number or a date but I learned to mask it. You'll need to expose yourself to it so that you can learn to adapt. Start with just saying hello and build up from there. Small talk with the cashier etc etc
