Eh. Maybe in places like Japan and Korea, but if you go to Southeast Asia, you basically have to cross the street while there’s traffic and walk through the cars/motorbikes (see: Vietnam).

I am in the same situation. 35 years old, all older male coworkers tell me to never get married.

Well the story is made up and partially based on an old Egyptian tale, so his friends can be whatever you want.

Great insight. You're living the dream now. Definitely achievable with hard work for 1-2 years.

Agreed. Slowly weaning her off is absolutely the best way. No bad blood, little risk of retaliation. This is doubly true if you run in the same social circles.

Right?!?! Raising a child costs between $200-250k in the USA, and she doesn’t want to spend a few hundred on sperm? Holy shit.

You’re saying the existence of god is the only reason you don’t go murder? How about just having compassion and inner desire to help others? I don’t believe in god but I volunteer often and donate to charities that I think are worthwhile. I do this because I enjoy helping others and I get that from within myself. I don’t need the fear of some made up supernatural being to be a kind person.

Sorry to break it to you, but god is not real. Santa Claus for adults.

There is no scientific proof that god doesn't exist. There is also no scientific proof that flying pigs don't exist. There is no scientific proof that a Chinese tea pot orbiting the sun between Earth and Mars doesn't exist (see "Russell's teapot"). The proof is required by the one claiming existence of something. You can't just make something up and then require others to prove it doesn't exist.

It’s the worst in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia. In some other countries, marriage is not so fucked. In Scandinavia, divorce lawyers are often not needed as it’s simply: what was yours before is yours, what was made during the marriage is split 50-50, that’s it. In Taiwan, often times couple do not even mix finances when they get married. The US and other parts of the west make starting a family an insanely risky decision for a well-off man.

This is very similar to my situation as well. I’m 36, great job, work out daily, I talk care of myself. My relationships typically lasted 2-4 years, and the last one ended 4 years ago. I would write myself notes during the bad times that no pussy was worth what the emotional shit. Now I catch girls giving me eyes and I have absolutely zero interest in approaching and getting caught in another web. I’m enjoying stacking cash, trying new hobbies, and traveling.

She obviously loved being my plate This is interesting. Girls enjoy being plates, they enjoy the mystery, they enjoy the challenge, they enjoy the fantasy, they enjoy their imaginations running wild. By asking her to be 'your girl' actually gives her less enjoyment.

It really all comes down to sugar (artificial sweeteners are even worse). Chicks love sweet junk food/drinks and sadly, it destroys them.

This is spot on. I'm 30 and along with OP and others on this thread, you all are summarizing my recent thoughts exactly. I'm in the break-up pendulum with a 2.5 year long LTR. My last LTR for awhile, maybe forever. She seemed like a unicorn- 22 years old, very low N count, not American (east Asian), beautiful, smart, funny, but STILL, the drama is insane. The maintenance and effort required is just too much. I end up just running dread game constantly without even trying and it's just not fun. S…

Solid FR and good advice on how to handle lost frame. Radio silence and pre-selection has worked wonders for me in the past too in work settings. Meet her, put on the heavy flirting, then radio silence plus positive things said about you from other women has an incredible effect.

I'll be 31 soon too and I went through the same realization about friends about a year ago. I placed my long-term friendships (5-10 years) near the top of the most important things in my life, my mistake. Just like you, I did large favors for good friends expecting them to do the same, and was hurt when I was in need of a small amount help and didn't get anything back. I realize now that I was creating covert contracts at the friendship level and my expectations were unrealistic. As a result, I'…

Brilliant summary. Some of my favorites. there's no such thing as having enough muscles. I gave myself a prescription for a new slim girlfriend. Fuck diamonds, fuck weddings, and fuck legal marriage. I'm investing in Berkshire Hathaway stock instead.
