In many professions women aren’t seen as capable, outside of prison they do tend to be sexually assaulted more, they tend to have eating disorders more often as a product of society. Everyone has privileges and struggles that come with their identities, and how society treats them.

Muscular is seen as healthy though (a lot of the standards aren’t, like 5% body fat isn’t healthy) but the ideal of thin is not seen as healthy. I’m sure if you looked up like thick or curvy you wouldn’t get one either. I think we should really just promote healthy body compositions for men and women, without putting a huge burden on people.

It’s less about population size, and more about how it was a trade off for traditional gender roles. Women didn’t have equal rights, but they also weren’t forced to work. They didnt do violent crime, but in return it was seen as more taboo to assault a woman than a man.
