Best part: an initial objection of "I have a boyfriend" really meant "i've been talking to a guy for a week and it might get serious".

Do these friends have experience going after what they want and getting it, or do they tend to just wait for it to happen?

We should pregame and go out together - my roommate and I are fairly active with this. We live about a block from the first bar you mentioned, The Apartment, and are 24. Should be cool if you're interested, we'll be back in town right after New Years.

I wouldn't have called someone like that out on their shit before, but I'm no longer some chode who doesn't respect themselves anymore, so I told her she was being fucking ridiculous. Can you elaborate on the interaction where you called her out on it?

It's Cinco de Mayo. Show up in a sombrero and act appalled that she didn't do the same.

I took a first date last night to a gay bar with a nice outside patio (first nice weather all year). It went great - very easy to sexualize the conversation, show that you're comfortable in your own skin, and filter girls who aren't really worth my time.. and the drinks were strong.

Agreed with recognizeLA. Also, take a look at Conquer Your Campus - lots of good tips for maximizing the social proof/hierarchy aspect of college game (which is 90% of it).

When you're in a new city, how do you find about the best spots to go at night? Yelp reviews of bars and clubs don't tend to be written by people with the same life outlook

You'v already had sex. She's coming over and will be in your room. And you're worried about "building rapport" .. ?

Sexual pretexts always exist, it's just up to you to act on them or not. Read the sidebar. Just go to the bar, make sure she's not worried about driving after (logistics), have casual playful conversation and make her feel comfortable physically (escalate touch), and let it take itself from there.

SunRa's post is actually the definition of 'Active' Nihilism. Quite an interesting topic.

girls: If one isn't having a good time, none of them are allowed to have a good time.

"Hey, I really like those boots you got on." "Wow, your hair looks cute, did you do something different today?" "Yo, you got some sweet ass nipples. Can I suck one of em?" All solid openers.

On making friends in college: join clubs, be extroverted in class (answering questions != nerdy study-hard [don't overdo it]), join more clubs, join intramural sports teams (my school has co-ed teams. Boom, instant friends who are athletic and social). There you will not only have more random social proof in bar settings as people will know you from X and come up to talk to you or you'll have direct friends who can wing. Read "Conquer Your Campus". It's a little late in the game, but a lot still…

Gay bars and scenes are fascinating. You can learn a lot by the way a gay man will hit on you. If he does it right, you don't even realize he's coming on to you. If he does it wrong, you feel uncomfortable and want to avoid the situation (ie: it's identical to straight men hitting on women - they don't realize what's happening until it's too late). Also, it's a fun change of pace because usually the straight girls completely have their guard down and it gives you an interesting out of being able…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
