Yep, while he was totally justified in handling her at the end like he did when she tried to bite him, it was 100% in his power to have never let it get to that point. He could have been less condescending talking to her up front, and he didn't have to struggle with her when she stood up.

I think you nailed a key aspect for those of us that get disheartened by all of this. Vulnerability versus being pathetic. It can be a very fine line, but you can show vulnerability without being a complete wimp about it.

I just found this sub from another thread and this was the first post here I read. I agree with you, although I did finish reading it out of morbid curiosity.
