My ex used to bring ice cream every day after work when we lived together, also he watched twilight or any movie that I wanted when I was sad. And the thing I cherish the most was him teaching me how to use power tools and tools in general, he used to say "come watch, just in case something breaks and I'm not around" and then he explained every step.

You are not gonna be happy with my answer but i couldn't care less on "divorce raping" someone as I work very hard for what I want in life. (Currently med student, working as a emergency health provider during the pandemic) my parents live a very comfortable lifestyle so I won't ever be a burden to someone else. As for the laws I don't even agree with stay at home moms so yeah, i'll be more than happy for equal laws. Sorry to disappoint.

Oh no! I wasn't trying to criticize a man rather trying to learn more about how to act. Just that, hope you don't mind. And thanks for your answer

I'm sorry if I sounded like that, not my intention at all. Again, I have very little experience with guys and i wanted some opinions from, well, guys. I apologize if my comment upsets you in any way. I'll remove it if that's what you prefer.

I hope someday I'll find someone like that. Thank you so much for being so polite and kind to me. I apologize if I did something wrong by commenting in here, but I'm glad I did after reading your answer.

Jeez I must live in a bubble but given I'm catholic and i attend a Catholic university that could explain some things. But hey thank you so much for such kind answer and i apologize if I did something wrong, i was just curious to what guys think on different situations.

I'm sorry that you feel so bad about my comment. I just wanted a guys perspective, that's it. Hope everything is fine

I wasn't calling socially awkward to anyone in particular I was just explaining how girls don't always chase Chad.

Hey thanks for the answer, very well explained and very respectful. About guys posting on fds I don't really mind as it keeps things interesting but i understand if I crossed some line that i wasn't supposed to and i apologize for that. I agree, i would never sleep with someone I don't know. My intention was to be with the man who proposed to me at 18 and yet here i am thinking that it doesn't matter how good the girl is sometimes is never enough.

Probably you are not gonna care about my comment cause I'm a girl and that's not very popular around here but what about girls like me? I met the guy I thought was the one at 16 and i never cheated on him. He was never a Chad just a normal kid who was socially awkward and loved videogames. I fell hard for him and i did my best to be his dream girl. Now I'm 22, his family tried to take advantage of my financial situation and he's leaving me as if it's nothing while I'm still thinking how did this…

Girl in medicine here and honestly you don't have to compete nor you have to care about what a bunch of guys think of you, it is all about doing something to improve yourself. My fiance is an engineer and he never looked down on any of his classmates. But honestly do what ever brings you joy.

Well 9 months isn't fast? What type of move is expected in a relationship after 9 months?

Heeeeeey thanks for the post. I have my real face here cause I was naive and had no idea of the type of men who post here on Reddit. And I thought "I look cute, what's the harm" never again. I get the weirdest messages all the time. Sometimes flattering, some time creepy.

Err careful there. I do agree with you but also it's not okay to tell young girls they have to find someone to marry that fast or going into a marriage without knowing the other person well enough. Otherwise I fully agree let's teach girls that being a forever girlfriend is not okay, that if a guy loves you enough he will propose and most likely will look out for you.

This require a deeper look. In your 20's we are young and care free, we do stupid shit thinking "what's the harm? I'm only 20" maybe clubbing every weekend instead of saving that money. Destroying your credit card on that vacation you have been dreaming off. Hanging out with the wrong people cause if not now, when? And specially desperately looking for a guy who can fill the boyfriend role that's nothing but a dead weight to your future. Or not caring about your future enough. It doesn't mean th…

I'm a med student so I'm sure you have far more experience on this than me. So far I can only speak about my classmates (next generation doctors) and honestly I'm disgusted, they don't even have status, power or money and still they are the absolute worst. Not to mention how sexist all of them are.

At this point I'm 100% sure that guys who enter the medical career are the absolute worst. They have a God complex, they think that they are the best thing, they have huge egos, they put very little effort in a relationship since they bring the "status" and they are going to cheat with no doubt. There's no amount of money on this planet worth dating those assholes. Girls do yourself a favor, avoid this assholes and work hard to accomplish your dreams. You definitely can do it.

I fit his criteria and also I come from Al well off family, so I don't need his money. Tell me again why should I date a 38 old guy with saggy balls?

Wow yeah i'm not supposed to downvote a comment calling me an idiot that you now deleted. Seriously why do you care so much about me? It was days ago Hey I'm not sure how you tried to help me. I'm really happy and I have true love from a great man who cares about my happiness. I wish for you the same

Err I wouldn't date someone who wants to get married at 22. We are not in medieval times, there's no need to get married young and start popping babies. As far as us we are confident that we want to expend our lives together. Who in their right mind gets married while in college???. It's no financially smart.

Hey based on what you described he wasn't the one for you. While a person can be awesome and have most of the features we want in a potential partner, we should always put compatibility in our priorities, seem like as people focus on getting a checklist- complete boyfriend/husband, they often forget about that. As I said I'm very young, and I'm still learning, if I make mistakes in the way I'm quick to fix them. I got lucky and bonded with amazing friends who are always there for me and were und…

Why would I want to change my reality? Also, why do you have to attack me I was respectful while answering you. It's not personal. I'm not questioning on your personal life. there's unnecessary aggression or judgment from your side. You should really work on having a conversation with someone who doesn't agree with you.

I'm 22 why on Earth would I be married? We are both in college (me: med school, him: engineer) I think it's the opposite. I was raised in a patriarchal type of way. It was common to hear that a girl has to be careful and save her self till marriage. To not engage so fast with guys, so being any different came with the judgment of everyone you knew. There's cons to this as well since we don't get a voice and the man is always right (spoiler alert, they're not) We all have different issues, it's u…

I totally understand where are you coming from but I must say it's not always like that. You have to be wise while searching for a partner at 20, 25, 30 or any age. It's up to you to keep it platonic till you see a guy's true character. It's up to you to say no when your limits are being surpassed. It's up to you to decide who you date. A douchebag is going to be a douchebag at all ages, it doesn't change just because he lived a couple more years. Putting yourself first and then looking for a pa…

Just a general rule of thumb never date a man with kids. They have a lot of baggage, there's a reason why they ex let them go and you don't need the stress

Oh I'm all about getting plastic surgery but he doesn't like it. He's very openly against it. He's more of a butt guy and you can get one of those by simply going to the gym.

I'm dating a guy that's 10/10. We have the whole highschool sweethearts, first everything and he's the sweetest most amazing man ever. He used to wait me in front of my school every day with a love letter or some special treat. He's 6'1, and very attractive. Currently about to graduate as an engineer. He watches porn from time to time Do I care? Nope, not at all. It doesn't affect our lives in any way, shape or form How do I keep such an amazing guy? I don't try to control his life, I Know him an…

I have to agree. I'm in med school and I have some girls classmates that are model potential, literally drop dead gorgeous. Not only girls are majority in my college but also, they are way prettier. There's maybe 2 (and I'm saying maybe cause one it's up to the the taste) decent looking guys, we are not talking outstanding, just above average. I got lucky and I have a pretty good-looking boyfriend and girls in my colleague literally stare. it's that bad.

I have a Dylan in mind, never fell for his shit even when he was trying to explain me how liberating would be to have sex with more people since I'm too old fashioned for only having sex with one guy (who is still my boyfriend)

Hey I'm a girl and I Know that I'm probably not welcome here but I wanted to learn how to be the unicorn for my current boyfriend. I love him deeply. We have been together for six years now and I want to make him happy (he was my first and only) and I want to keep it like that (it's not about money since I already have a beautiful house by myself and I'm currently on med school) I just want to make him happy, I will feel terrible If in 20 years from now he hates me for me being a bitch. Can you …

Hey i'm not sure if this subreddit would be polite but please be polite: I'm a girl and I'm 21 I only dated one guy in my life and I'm deeply in love with him, he's what I always dreamed about... I wanted to ask what can I do to make him happy? I don't want him hating me after 20 years together (this is not about money, lucky enough for me I inherited a house and I'm financially stable) I just love him with all my heart, and I want to satisfy him in any way possible. Can you ways give me some ti…

Thank you for your kind words. Actually with you being this sweet the chances of happening are pretty high. What attracted me to my boyfriend was how sweet, kind and respectful he was. If a girl is looking for a forever, those are the characteristics that are really important. Please don't have the mindset that in order to have a girlfriend you have to be something special, just be kind. If you want some tips or if can help you in anything please let me know, in happy to help.

I'm a girl, hopefully my opinion won't bother you... I'm dating a broke college student, without car, average looking and living in a different state. It's really easy to find someone better if I tried. I had a lot of opportunities to cheat and I didn't. Why you may ask? Cause I value personality, love, our history together, how he treats me, if he's willing to put an effort on our relationship. Also because I love him, for six years of my life he was and is the only guy that I ever wanted. I ju…
