The reason I say an embryo or early stage fetus is less alive is because it's attached to another organism and does nothing to its own. It doesn't feed or sense. It functions more like an organ. A single celled organism feeds itself, signal and is able to reproduce. How is that not more alive

A kid is not a "temporary inconvenience" if you're poor and barely have enough money for yourself, having a kid can be a life destroying event as a result of just a measly bad decision or rape you experienced. When talking about when a child should be birthed I wasn't talking about the chance for deformation or diseases. I was talking about that a study shown that, among other things, having a child after 30 and not before, increases your chances of having a stable job and maintaining it immense…

So if things don't just become living how did the first life come to be? How did sperm cells come to be? One celled organism are alive by all definitions, fetuses are not. They can't sense, have little to no brain activity, and don't move during long periods of the pregnancy, they are not alive.

So does a woman. Risk to life doesn't equal negative effect on life Just because I can die whenever I drive down the freeway doesn't make my life worse

And you do have any evidence for that? No of course you don't Because if you looked for evidence before creating an opinion, you wouldn't have the one you're having right now

Shut up you sexist dickhead You have absolutely no concept of how much strain being a mother gives And where do you get your moronic idea that being a woman and financially supporting a child is less strainful than a man doing it? Have you considered that might not be a man in the household

You recognize the difference between a 3 month old and a 9 month old yet you fail to consider this in your argument. Just because you disagree with a fact as an opinion doesn't mean I should still respect your opinion. I'm dismissing your opinion with blanket statements because facts are blanket statements and that's what you use to dismiss non factual opinions. You can point out my strategy like it's wrong but if you were arguing "the Earth is flat" and I said "no it isn't, it's round and you'r…

if it is deemed as the best decision for them and their family's health That's the point of the discussion, but if it's best for the fetus falls away because of it not being alive scientifically speaking (you can disagree with science all you want it won't make you right), therefore the family's opinion remains. Since we're talking about a mother's offsprings and she's the one who has to carry it, therefore the last say should be for her. Done

No but it is legal for a family member, let's just say a random one idk, their mother to pull their life support if it is deemed as the best decision for them and their family' health. Not to mention the person in the coma has been alive at some point in contrast to a fetus

I can see your point, and it's a reasonable one. to me this post just still illustrates a problem I have with the sub in general. I think I'll leave it soon since I don't see this getting any better

Yes but you never stated that you do, and your continued fight-ready attitude makes me believe you don't. And on the notion of baby murdering, Google when a baby develops a functional nervous system, look up when their brain starts functioning. That which we define as life is not found in a baby until very late during pregnancy. It's not a baby, nor is it murder

Then we can have a polite discussion about it, but most of the people here are treating women like they're doing this on purpose, and let's not tell White lies: women are, in general, less physically fit and strong then men are. There's a reason for the difference. I do athletics, women get higher points for lower scores with lower weights. Does that mean that difference should be present in the draft for the military? I don't know, that's an interesting discussion to have but that's not what's …

That's not the point, they're acting like every woman in the army asked to be held to different standards. When this is just a poll that you don't even know how many people participated in, and who

My argument is that you act sexist to women that don't even use the pussypass. I wouldn't mind if they used it and you reacted like this but I doubt all women in the army think they should be held to different standard then men, yet here you are, acting like they do

That's the impression this subreddit likes to give off. But in the end it's just lots of people pretending a woman instigated a fight and getting excited over the superior strength of the man who proceeds to bash the woman. People assume a woman plays her pussycard by virtue of existing. No girl here played the pussycard, there's no example of a woman asking for extra help during army training being given. Yet here people are acting like someone played a pussycard when no one did shit. They're j…

This argument against abortion is absolutely idiotic. You can get exempt from the draft if you're under special circumstance. So why wouldn't you support abortion under special circumstance like a rape case? There's a difference between being physical trained to be as effective on the battlefield as possible, which will aid your chances of survival, and being forced to bear a child which has been proven to affect your life in a negative way most of the time when under the age of 30. Your logic i…

It's great that abuse of men is being acknowledged in public like this. Not making a big point out of the different pronoun. Just using it like how it should be. This is how you spread awareness

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
